  • Great Book
As an adult beginner seeking to explore the world of piano, the Adult Piano Adventures All-in-One Piano Course Book 1 has been a delightful and enriching experience. Designed specifically for adult learners, this course strikes a perfect balance between educational depth and engaging content.

    Content and Structure:
The book is thoughtfully organized, starting with foundational concepts and progressively building on them. Each chapter introduces new techniques and musical pieces in a way that feels manageable and encouraging. The combination of theory and practice is well-integrated, ensuring that you not only learn how to play but also understand the fundamentals of music theory.

    Online Audio Features:
One of the standout features is the inclusion of online audio resources. The play-along tracks are incredibly helpful, allowing you to hear how pieces should sound and practice alongside them. This feature enhances the learning experience by providing immediate feedback and helping to build a sense of timing and rhythm.

    Ease of Use:
The book’s layout is clear and user-friendly, with easy-to-follow instructions and well-structured lessons. The visual aids and explanations are well-designed, making it simple to grasp new concepts. Additionally, the musical pieces selected for practice are varied and enjoyable, keeping motivation high.

    Overall Experience:
Overall, the Adult Piano Adventures All-in-One Piano Course Book 1 is an excellent resource for anyone looking to start their piano journey later in life. It combines effective teaching methods with engaging content, making practice sessions both productive and enjoyable. Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who wants to refresh their skills, this book offers a solid foundation in piano playing and is well worth the investment.
  • Very easy to follow for someone new to Piano
The writing is clear, the engraving is top notch, and the lesson difficulty is just enough to challenge the student as they move from lesson to lesson. The online videos help. Overall I think this is a good choice for people who want to learn to play the piano and intend to read music.
  • Great method, well laid out format
Don’t waste your time with free lessons on YouTube. This book is easy to follow, has video links so you can hear the piece and then you can play along with wonderfully goofy accompaniment, which is provided even for simple warm ups. I also found the FYI short videos that Randall does throughout very helpful. The unrelated YouTube Lets Play Along for the Faber series videos good for very slow practice (I skip to the end of those videos— I don’t find his preambles very helpful). What makes this series a standout is the pacing. It’s also nice to go back to earlier lessons and feel triumphant.
  • Fantastic book for adult learners!
I've purchased a stack of piano method books and this one is the best! It has SO MUCH to offer. It's very easy to understand and the step-by-step teaching method is great. The lessons move at a reasonable pace and I supplement it with a series on YouTube - Lets Play Piano Methods - where an extremely good music teacher guides you through the book page-by-page and plays each lesson and duets with the learner. In addition, the book includes QR codes so you can hear how each lesson should sound and you can watch one of the authors demonstrate technique. The authors have put considerable effort into creating this supplemental material. I chose the spiral binding as it lays flat against the piano music stand.
  • Great content, but missing pages in my copy
This book itself is fantastic. I'm an adult beginner teaching myself and it has been an incredible resource. I don't think I would have learned anything at all without it. The lessons are clearly written, logical, and build on each other for a well rounded foundation in reading music and playing skillfully. I will soon be leveling up to the next book, and have worked at this one for several months. It makes me excited to play piano. That being said, I just discovered that the copy I received is missing pages 151-168. In their place are duplicate pages of 121-136. I'm pretty disappointed because it's now past the return window. I'm missing part of unit 14, all of unit 15, and part of unit 16. Ill have to try and find these lessons elsewhere so I don’t miss important theory. Other than that, I do recommend this book for learning piano. There have only been a couple of short exercises that are specifically meant for a teacher or friend to help with, so the majority is great for someone self-teaching, especially with the bonus online content.
  • Great for self learners
Self learner here and the book does an excellent job (so far, I'm around page 45) at teaching the fundamentals in an easy way to understand. It's also very nice that they have videos that you see from scanning QR codes on the page.

If your hesitating or unsure for self learning from this book with maybe Alfred's, I can confidently say that I have no issues and am enjoying this book so far. Maybe Alfred could be better for you but I heard it is more faster paced/stressful and "chord" heavy.
