- swamibearA beautifully told story of how someone grows up to become a true leader...I've now read Governor Shapiro's memoir and was truly inspired by it. The book is funny and has a lot of unlikely turns. He tells stories of growing up outside Philly, playing basketball and being the point guard, traveling to Israel, and how his father was a pediatrician and taught him how to care for others. The book then goes on to describe his political life and the challenges he faced as a local Pennsylvania official, an attorney general, and now governor. It's a beautifully told story with really dramatic moments - the book opens on the first night of Passover last year when the governor's residence is attacked by an arsonist - but it continually returns to all the things that bring us together to keep the light with the hope we can live and love each other. Every American should read this book because it's a great story of how to educate a leader.
