- Daquita CooperExcellent Summer Resource for Kids!I purchased the "Summer Bridge Activities 2nd to 3rd Grade Workbook" for my 8-year-old, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This comprehensive workbook is a fantastic tool to keep children engaged and learning during the summer break. My sibling is an elementary school teacher and introduced me to these books when my son was in Kindergarten and I honestly have not looked back. My LO loved a good challenge so we typically do multiple days to ensure we finish it in its entirety during the summer. I'm constantly recommending these books every summer as I have not yet found anything to replace it.
Content Quality:
The workbook covers all essential subjects: math, reading comprehension, writing, science, social studies, and even fitness. Each section is well-organized and filled with age-appropriate activities that challenge and entertain. The variety of exercises ensures that my child doesn't get bored, and the progressive difficulty helps build confidence.
Educational Value:
The math and reading comprehension sections are particularly strong, with clear explanations and plenty of practice problems. The writing prompts encourage creativity and critical thinking, while the science and social studies sections introduce interesting facts and concepts. I appreciate the inclusion of fitness activities, promoting a healthy lifestyle alongside academic learning.
Flash Cards:
The included flash cards are a wonderful bonus. They are durable, colorful, and perfect for quick review sessions. My child enjoys using them, and they make reinforcing concepts fun and interactive.
Ease of Use:
The workbook is user-friendly with clear instructions for both parents and kids. It's designed to be self-paced, which means my child can work independently or with minimal guidance. The answer key at the back is helpful for quick checks.
Engagement:
What sets this workbook apart is its ability to make learning enjoyable. The activities are engaging, and the themes are relevant and interesting. My child looks forward to workbook time each day, which is a huge win for any parent trying to prevent the summer slide.
Overall, the "Summer Bridge Activities 2nd to 3rd Grade Workbook" is an excellent investment in your child's education. It's thorough, fun, and well-designed to keep young minds sharp over the summer. I highly recommend it to any parent looking to provide a balanced and enriching educational experience during the school break. - Elizabeth WhitingExcellent Resource! The Summer Bridge Activities 2nd Grade to 3rd Grade Workbook has been an amazing resource for helping my child stay engaged and learning over the summer! This workbook is packed with fun and educational activities that cover a wide range of subjects—math, language arts, science, social studies, and even fitness. The variety of topics keeps things interesting and helps reinforce everything my child learned in 2nd grade while getting a sneak peek into 3rd grade material.
What I really love is the addition of flash cards, stickers, and eBooks. The flash cards make it easy to practice key concepts like math facts and vocabulary in a fun, interactive way, while the stickers are a great incentive for completing activities. The eBooks are an added bonus, providing an interactive digital component to the workbook that keeps my child engaged and excited to learn.
The activities are well-organized, age-appropriate, and provide just the right amount of challenge. My child enjoys doing a little bit each day, and I've noticed an improvement in their confidence and skills in just a short time. This workbook is an excellent investment for parents looking to keep their kids sharp, have fun, and bridge the gap between grade levels. I highly recommend it! - MyaComprehensive & Engaging Summer Learning Resource! As a 2nd-grade teacher, I highly recommend the Summer Bridge Activities Workbook for keeping students engaged and learning during the summer months. This workbook does an excellent job of bridging the gap between 2nd and 3rd grade, covering essential subjects like math, language arts, science, and social studies in a fun and interactive way.
One of the standout features is the variety of activities that keep students interested while reinforcing key concepts. The inclusion of flashcards, stickers, and access to eBooks makes it even more engaging, encouraging kids to stay motivated. I also appreciate the balance between academics and physical activity suggestions—this helps students stay active while continuing to learn.
If I could suggest one improvement, it would be adding a few more open-ended writing prompts for extra practice. However, overall, this is an excellent resource for preventing summer learning loss and ensuring students are ready for the next grade. I highly recommend it to parents and fellow educators! - rainbowbrite0884Great summer workbook! So far an easy book compared to the Argo Summer Academy one that was too challenging. I don't like the way the pages are perforated they fall out of the book too easily. I feel like it is a good balance of keeping up skills already learned and softly introducing a little bit of challenge. I like how each day has math and reading. Easy to keep skills up with only 15 minutes of work a day.
- AliciaGreat resource.Love these books. We used them this summer and they were perfect for keeping my kids brains thinking in summer. Just 1 front and back page a day that takes no more than 20 minutes. Work was true to what they had been learning in school. Helped to fill learning gaps they may have struggled on through the year. My kids loved that they had a sticker chart to add to each day after completing their assessment. Will be buying again next year
