How To Draw 101 Things For Kids: Simple And Easy Drawing Book With Animals, Plants, Sports, Foods,...EverythingsTop reviews from the United States
- ArgWish I had this when I was a kidThis is a good book for a young student learning how to wield a pencil and color. This book has lots of fun items to draw, and once a child is taught how to use it, can work independently for hours. Imagine the satisfaction of coloring in something you drew yourself. Great for first steps in drawing.
- Ppp3Easy step by step.Perfect for my budding artist grandson
- Kristin D.BUY!!1000/1000 YES! Super cute! Gives a space per image for practice!!
And yes super easy instructions, our six year old is thriving! - Okay Honey, Yes DearFun and Basic Drawing Book for Budding ArtistsThe “How To Draw 101 Things For Kids” book is a simple and easy drawing guide for young artists. It covers a range of subjects from animals to foods, perfect for kids and parents looking for a fun and educational activity. It’s especially handy for those, like me, who haven’t touched a pencil since the 8th grade art class.
The Pros:
• Easy-to-Follow Instructions: Even for parents who thought “art” was a four-letter word. This book simplifies the process, making it accessible for all skill levels.
• Wide Range of Topics: From lions to rockets, there’s something for every little artist. It’s like an all-you-can-draw buffet.
• Fun Activity: Great for those “rainy day/no tech day” scenarios when you need to entertain kids without screens. Plus, it’s a sneaky way to bond over some creative fun.
• Affordable: For the price, it’s a steal—especially if it saves you from another round of “I’m bored” during summer break.
• Encourages Creativity: It’s a fantastic starting point for kids who might just discover their inner Picasso (or at least keep them busy for a bit).
The Cons:
• Not for Advanced Artists: This is more ‘stick figure level’ than ‘gallery opening’—perfectly fine for beginners but don’t expect to hang these on the walls of the MoMA.
As a parent, I found this book to be a life-saver. It made drawing accessible and fun, even for someone like me whose art peaked with finger painting. My child enjoyed the challenge, and we both had a good laugh at our attempts. The instructions are clear, and the book is structured well for a step-by-step learning experience. It’s also a great conversation starter; you never realize how many different ways there are to draw a watermelon until you try it with a kid!
The “How To Draw 101 Things For Kids” is a delightful addition to any household with children. It offers an educational yet entertaining activity that encourages creativity and provides a great bonding opportunity. While it’s not going to produce masterpieces, it’s perfect for what it is—a fun, basic guide for young artists. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a bit of art (and humor) to their family time. - SwanActually works for little kids! This is a great drawing book for kids.
So many drawing books are about drawing techniques for adults or professionals. Such as framing in a face, then drawing it then erasing the frame... that doesn't work for a 5 year old.. THIS does!~~ This is step by step.
My child is constantly bringing me cute pictures. The faces make everything so funny. It has massively added to my children's drawing skills. I'd say great for kids ages 4-12+.
Suggestions for improvement would be page numbers on pages and in the index. Also title on the spine. We lose these books on the bookshelf all the time because the spine is blank. I finally wrote the titles on the spine.
Book helped my child's drawing confidence and is so much fun. My kids went from saying "I don't know how to draw a __" to saying "I can try make that"
Anyway- I hope writing this and the pictures help show what the book is like.
Happy Shopping - dnicole777Super fun and easy to follow! Our 5-year-old LOVES this. She received for a present and it is boosting her confidence in drawing! Very basic and easy to follow! I realize they have videos you can watch online, but you have to constantly pause them for your little one to catch up - this is great to just give to your child with pen and paper and let them do on their own time without assistance! Great for parents that want their child to have something to do while they are busy cleaning or making dinner. definitely recommend!
