- Carol SmoczynskiCoin BoxI love the coins. They will be a great gift for my 7 year old coin collector. The box was broken though. The bottom fell out when I picked it up. The coins were too heavy for the thin wood. I’ll fix it. But there should really be a thicker bottom.
- Eric J. SimilaVery satisfyingThe coins were just part of a grab bag, But I found the small treasure treasure chest that came with it to be very helpful as well.
Currently I'm using the cell phone program coin snap to analyze and project what I got out of this collection. To catalog what I have.
I do have one minor gripe. One of the coins was so dirty, and so flat That I couldn't even tell what it was. It made it unidentifiable. But the rest of the coins seem to be in very good condition and the program had very little difficulty figuring out what was what.
I've already collected coins from 13 different countries based on the 50 coins that I've already analyzed out of the 200 or so I was given. Some of the coins are a little bit on the hefty side. Some of them measured at maybe about 10 or 9.5 g. - CarlaGreat deal for coins and chest!Nice variety of coin countries. Love the chest the coins arrived in. Sturdy and attractive. I read previous complaints regarding the chest. The problem must have been addressed and fixed. I received 2 pounds of amazing history dating back to the 1800's with a beautiful chest to hold them. What a wonderful surprise!
- JohnNeat gift for any coin collectorIt's a cute little treasure chest. The chest is very detailed and made from wood (and plastic for the latches). Better quality than I expected. For the price of the coins per lb, it's pretty average and not a bad deal for the combo. I bought it for myself but it's definitely a great gift for any coin collector or someone starting a coin collection, and gives you the added bonus of a fun way to display your treasures.
- cole brittonSCAM- no 18th century coin included!!!!This is a SCAM!!! Coins Advertised are lies! My wife purchased this for Christmas for me, majority of coins are 2000+.
She purchased this specifically for the East India Trading Company Coin and it wasn’t in there. Oldest coin is 1942. A few 50s and 60s and a handful of 70s and 80s.
Extremely dissatisfied with the blatant lie in the advertising! - ThomOkay for a gift idea, not a great value though. The box I received contained 103 coins, and while a few of them I would consider old or historical, the majority are recent dates and I received several duplicates. For example I got seven 1998 British pennies. There was also a disproportionate amount of Colombian coins, seventeen, which although they varied by dates it really cuts into the overall diversity of the world coins vibe. The oldest date was 1826, but the majority are 1940 and later. Some of the coins were bent, and many so worn it was difficult to tell what they were. One coin I still can’t I.D. The little treasure chest box they come with is where most of the price of this product is probably allocated. It’s not of high quality, but looks nice and makes a nice gift box for the coins. A child interested in coins might love this, however this is not a good buy for someone just looking to acquire a diverse collection of world coins. You are better off checking your local coin shop, or buying a larger bag of coins online without the packaging and fluff.
