- Kindle CustomerArrived in good condition and everything is workingI'm using this DL360 to replace the previous VMware host that died in my "lab." It booted right up with no errors, the VMware software has been installed and configured, and it's now hosting six VMs - a mix of Linux and Windows servers. I even received an email from them to confirm that I didn't need them to install an OS. Thanks StrongIT!
Joe - Zaud01Just an AWESOME Server for the money!Just as many other reviews the installed hard drive count was different than the description, however the amount of storage was actually larger. I would have preferred the 4 smaller drives but completely OK with the configuration that I received. With that said, I installed OpenSUSE Tumbleweed as a XEN server to consolidate (and get rid of older PCs). It runs XEN With 7 Guests like a champ! the Virtual machines that I created were straight from the individual PCS Hard drives. I swear some of the virtual machines run better than they did on their own hardware!!! Very Pleased with this purchase, thinking about getting a second one.
Anyone considering purchasing one of these units I highly recommend picking one of them up, worth every penny!!!! - bproctorTitle no quite rightI ordered two of these but had to scavenge parts from one to make everything work the way I wanted. Not complaining or returning based off the price I paid.
One of them had a bad fan, easily replaced it with a working one from the other.
Moved the RAM (gave me total 64bg), HDD ( gave me total 1.2tb), and power supply from one to the other.
Came with one HDD each @ 600 gb
Came with one power supply each
Came with 32 gb of RAM each
After combining the parts I set up RAID1 and installed ESXI. I currently have 2 Windows Server 19 STD, 1 Windows 10, 1 Ubuntu, and 1 KEMP VM running on it. Since I had plenty of room on my switch I plugged in all four 1 gig ethernet ports. I cannot complain about this older system other than it being a little louder than I want, but it is fast. I am able to access all the VMs remotely from my laptop on wireless with hardly any lag at all. It is almost like I am sitting on a bare metal system. I had more lag when I had the two server OS's running on my PC using Hyper-V. Granted I don't have much of a load on the servers themselves.
I would have gave 5 stars if the one fan wouldn't have been dead on arrival and the description was accurate. And I probable wouldn't have been nearly as happy if I would have only ordered one and not been able to part out one of them. But overall getting started with it has been great, lets see how long it last. - muannot working serverI bought this back in 2022, but try to use it in Dec, 2025. Doesn't matter how long I put aside, this suppose to work right. But when I try, no video out put available. Missing hhd as other reviews. Wasted money.
- Robert H.Great Product and SupportI received a call in regards to my product prior to shipping. (Unexpected but grateful...)
They asked if there were any upgrades I wanted. I went with additional memory. I should have asked for more HDD space as well, sadly I didn't.
It is suiting my needs very well.
Thank You! - EliasA tricky review to make, but I'm sticking with itHad a few issues. The server came with Windows Server 2016 installed. I called the seller's office and he very quickly gave me the password to it and it immediately worked. I also had to reset the server's firmware to default settings. Minor inconveniences I won't let sway me.
Additionally, it did not come with 4 x 146GB HDD. It came with 2 x 300GB HDD. After contacting them with a resolution I felt was fair, they agreed and were able to appropriately compensate me - which I greatly appreciate. Also, the processors inside are actually 2 x X5660 2.8GHz, which are better than what was stated on the product page. I can't say they're all like that, but mine was, so that's always a bonus.
Overall, after less than an hour of working on it directly, it was a pretty great deal. I only just received it today so I'll update this review if anything happens - but I don't expect it to. There wasn't anything directly shifty I saw. I'd suggest this purchase if you just want a test environment on a physical server or if you're an IT student and want something to mess around with. There's enough documentation on the internet that'll let you overcome the obstacles you might face. - Tom ShandleyGood server except title promised 4x SAS drives not included. (Got [1] 900GB drive instead)Overall good product. Up and running now with Ubuntu Server. Be careful though because it was supposed to ship with [4] 146GB 10K SAS drives but only came with one 900GB drive instead. This was a problem for me since I wanted the 4 promised drives for a RAID array. I will reach out to customer service and attempt to get other drives as well as increase my rating if they deliver promised drives. Otherwise nice server.
- That GuyNot as advertised, still a good buyWhile overall I’m still happy with the purchase, it would’ve been nice to know what I was getting. My dl360 only came with 1 sas drive and no extra caddys. Granted, it was a 900GB drive so that was nice. But it still would’ve been nice to know, I had to buy more caddy’s just to be able to put in the drives I was planning on using with raid 5. Once I installed more than one drive however I instantly had issues with the raid controller, some googling of the error pointed toward a bad raid cache module. Sure enough, once I bought and installed the new module every Is fine. I can’t say weather or not this was the reason they only included 1 sas drive, but it seemed suspicious. The inside of the server was spotless, they did a very good job of cleaning this thing. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another from this seller due to the price, but an updated description would be nice.
