The green flashing light on the remote indicated it was searching for the TV. Once it found the TV, the light went out and it was all set up. I didn't have to do a thing!
I tested the voice control feature and it worked like a charm. No further set up. No voice recognition hoops to jump through. Worked the first st time. This feature alone is worth the $20 price. The instructions say you can turn/off captions. I haven't tried it yet but if that works, that'll make this remote even more of an excellent bargain. Adjusting the captions on the TV is a hassle, especially if you're already in the program and have to back out of it and go back to the settings on the TV to change it.
The only thing I changed were the no-name batteries that came with it. I installed new Evereadys so I know they'll last longer

It was not a pairing issue. It was a battery issue. The remote went to sleep after a few seconds. Pop in new batteries when this happens.

I wasn’t getting clear answers from Googling if this would be compatible or not. Turns out, it is! Remote setup was super easy, just unplug your Roku for about 5 seconds and plug it back in, then remove the battery tab from the back and it connects automatically! The instructions also walk you through how to setup TV control as well with simple and clear instructions. It’s a great buy for $20 and the remote is the typical great quality you expect from Roku products with clearly marked buttons for the streaming shortcuts. My 3 year old loves being able to navigate to Disney+ by herself. Very happy with this purchase!
