- JacobQuality at a great priceThese cameras work great for the cheap price point. They are very easy to set up—you just need to download the app and connect them to Wi-Fi. The picture quality is fairly good, though it does start to get grainy at longer distances. The app also sends notifications depending on how you set up the camera in the app. Overall, it’s a great little camera that works well for the low price.
- CrapshoooterA fair price for a simple but reliable camera security monitoring systemI have a cabin that is located in a small town ( that is being generuse pop about 100) on the Canadian border.. Because of the remoteness I wanted some form of security and monitoring system, fortunately the area has internate service. I went to Amazon to see what was available at a reasonable cost for indoor plug in cameras. There were a number of brands including Rink which I use at home. Then I ran across Blink, I liked the style and the reasonable price of the Mini compact indoor plug in camera and the Mini indoor Pan-Tilt rotating camera. Also the yearly subscribtion which would cover an unlimited number of devices and has a number of services :
1. Motion activate notification by cell phone
2. Extended live view, continuous for 90 minute
3. Live view recording
4. Unlimited cloub storage of videos for 60 days
and a number of others services, all for about $120 a year as compared to one device coverage for about $40 a year. Since I was going to have more than 3 devices or cameras I took the Blink Plus plan.
As far as connecting the cameras to the internet just follow the directions and in about two minute your camera will be on-line. Then you can adjust the setting for each camera for motion detection area, sensitivity and other features.
The camera have a good quality picture on my Iphone. The cameras have worked fallessly for the last 3 years. Because of the remoteness of the area, there are numberous power outages. When the internet comes back on the camera have always come back on too. when you are serveral hundred milec away you just can not drop by and reset the cameras. I check them all the time on my Iphone thru the BlinkApp, make setting adjustments, review video clips we no problems.
A great product at a fair price, good quality, simple functionality that does the job. Will buy again - Good product fit perfect.Great productGreat cams. Easy set up. Nice having doorbell sound available. Great clear picture
- DarksideGood Spy CameraThe camera does pretty much what they claim. I bought it to spy on my mother's care givers, but never set it up as such. Recently I set it up in conjunction with two outdoor cameras to watch over my house while I took a trip. The app was fairly easy to set up, and they remote arming and disarming worked adequately. The audio is relatively poor, but, with fine hearing, can be understood. Resolution is good, and I have it set to record directly to a USB stick and do NOT use the cloud storage, thus, in theory, limiting Amazon's access to my data.
I have this camera on top of a china cabinet to monitor the front door. When armed it usually detects if the door opens. My sister also monitors my cameras and sometimes will speak to me over this one when I come in the door.
Deficiencies:
1) This camera is powered by a USB cable and must be plugged in to a powered USB connection or power block. This means that, unless that connection is on a UPS, if your house power goes out, the camera ceases to function.
2) Amazon can, and does monitor the camera (at least the audio) and will use that information for their own ends. Today I came in the door and my sister talked to me through the camera and I told her I had bought 120 lbs of birdseed. Afterwards I signed on to Amazon to order some items, and the "Recommended for Me" area at the bottom of the page was nothing but BIRDSEED! I do not know if the Amazon AIs also monitor the video but they are certainly tuned into the audio!
Bottom line: A nice little camera that will perform as advertised, IF YOU DON'T MIND AMAZON LISTENING IN. As a result, I strongly recommend that you do NOT have the camera aimed at any place where you would perform anything of a sensitive nature, such as a safe combination, or a computer screen where you will enter usernames and passwords, just in case they monitor the video as diligently as they do the audio. - wizpur_loudNot just a camera, but a communication alternative, tooI love my little security cam set up. I’m planning on getting the picture frames to help hide these so the blend in with the aesthetic. I love this cam so much that now I have several. I’m using the door bell for my side door and the outdoor cam for my living room, plus another mini in my kids room and a mini in my office to make sure my equipment and supplies are okay. We also use Ring for the main door and kitchen because the kitchen overlooks the main door and the dinning room with a motion light. I can use this to check on my kids when I’m in my office or while I’m cooking, and I’ve used it to talk to the kids while I ran errands when their dad was home. It is so easy to connect. The price is pretty reasonable. The zoom still has good quality. There is night vision, an actual light u can turn on remotely, and auto settings you can use on a specific schedule in the app. This functions as more than just a security cam for our family, but as another way to communicate…especially with phone service going in and out these days and the grid having gliches in electricity every now and then..plus winter storms effecting communication..roaming charges when you travel..get you a blink camera and talk for free..plus they have a support team and a cloud for just $10 per month for the entire system. My only issue is the mount ability..but people have already created hacks like the picture frame to help out. Unfortunately..due to privacy..I do not want to include photos at this time..but just know that this is a great option for growing families
- SbyStill working great!I have had these since 2021 and they have done a good job for keeping me with security for my home, also letting me check in on my dogs while I am away. Have not had any problems with them and they were easy to get up and running. thinking of updating them to a newer version now. They are small enough to keep out of sight, yet do show the whole room on the camera.
