About this item
- HANDCRAFTED BY BARTENDERS - Made by bartenders with real ingredients. The complex flavors in the craft cocktail mixer pair with aged spirits, like bourbon or rye whiskey, or even aged rum, scotch & other dark spirits.
- AWARD WINNER - Bittermilk No.1 Old Fashioned was the drink category winner of Garden & Gun magazine’s prestigious “Made in the South” Awards in 2013, and the product line has won 7+ Specialty Food Association’s SOFI Awards, including Outstanding Product Line and Best Cold Beverage.
- BOURBON BARREL AGED - Unique from other old fashioned mixes, Bittermilk old fashioned syrup is aged in freshly emptied, once-used Willett bourbon barrels to add complexity and allow the flavors intensify as it takes on notes of bourbon and charred white oak.
- SIMPLE TO USE - Just add booze. Stir 1 Part Bittermilk No.1 to 4 Parts Spirit with lots of ice, and garnish with an orange peel. The most complex and perfect old fashioned made at home with just two ingredients. Adjust the ratio recipe to your taste, and mix with your spirit of choice. Mixes best with aged spirits. Makes 17 or more cocktails per bottle.
- NO ARTIFICIAL INGREDIENTS - More than just bitters! We’ve taken classic bittering agents, like gentian root and cinchona bark, along with freshly milled spiced, burnt golden cane sugar and fresh orange peel, and slowly aged it all in bourbon barrels.

- Epiffany MediaFantastic taste, one of the best mixes I have triedThis stuff is great! I think it makes a fantastic old fashioned... I prefer the small bottles over the one large bottle just because the measurements are easy. One small bottle for every 2 oz of bourbon. The larger bottle is better value of course, but I feel like this brand of syrup makes a great old fashioned.
- TimOld Fashioned syrup with bittersNice quality simple syrup with bitters to make a fast delicious Old Fashioned. I use a half ounce with 2 ounces of bourbon and throw in an orange slice with a muddled cherry over a large ice ball and enjoy. Definitely recommend.
- Scott BarlowGreat Old Fashioned Mix I will definitely buy againIf you enjoy or have never tried a Old Fashioned Pre Mix, you will enjoy this one. This was the first time i/ve tried this one and it did not disappoint. Straight forward easy to use. Great taste.
- Tom BrandonVery Tasty and Easy to UseMakes a very nice Old Fashioned.
- Arizona64Not a Sazerac, but Good in it's Own RightSeveral reviews of this "New Orleans Style" mix describe it as a sazerac. I've had a lot of sazeracs from a lot of bars over the years, and this mix isn't a sazerac. It doesn't have anywhere near the anise flavor that should accompany that drink.
On the other hand, it does have a unique flavor profile all of it's own, with just a tweak of anise that comes through the blend. It's really quite good, and I have no problem recommending it as a variation on an old fashioned. - J BodineButtermilk was a winnerMade a batch of old fashions for some guests and everyone liked this mix when used with bourbon. This mixture made it super easy to make the drinks with just a few easy steps. You may have to adjust the portions of bourbon to the mixture, I found the directions of 4 parts bourbon to 1 part bitter milk to be a little sweeter than I like but it’s easy to adjust by adding more bourbon to figure what is best for you. Very unique flavor of spices when using this mixture made that was very good.
- Susan A LeviBest mix on the marketBeat mix in the market! We have tried many and always come back to this one. It is consistently perfect
- DebbieYummmmmThis mixer is really good. I tried it by adding maybe a quarter of an ounce to 1.5 ounces of Shanky’s (an Irish Whiskey blend) in a highball glass over ice. It was delicious!
