- LBGreat Tool!!Wish it was a wall mount but the charging stand is ok. It charges fast and the power is awesome. I really like the way the crevice tool is a part of the nose of the vac. The brush is also attached and works wonderful! Easy to empty as well!
I had a B&D vac for 12 years and it just started losing power too quick so got this new one and I love it!
I still use the old one to clean up kitty litter spills. - GingerSuction is impressive!Easy to use. The brush swivels out of the way when you don’t need it. Easily twist and remove to dump. Charge base included. Right out of the box I tried it. It’s as loud as a regular vacuum but handheld version, no big deal. I’m most impressed with the suction. I take my car to carwashes and most vacuums at the car wash are just ok. This is def better than any car wash vacuum that’s my opinion. Love this 100%! Worth the $$$
- KiraReliable, better for more occasional useThis is a great option for a handheld vacuum. I’ve purchased several of these over the years. This one lasted around a year, cleaning up after two rabbits daily who have longer hair and shed a lot. The motor started making an awful squealing noise and no suction. So time for a new one lol

Only lasted about a year before the motor died - LizGood investmentI love that the attachments are connected to the dustbuster, making it easier to change what you need to use. The nozzle also turns for small, tight areas. The color is good. The storage is good, I would have preferred a wall mount attachment for storage. Lightweight, very durable & love the ease of use & immediately able to clean up dirt asap. I do not like the charging base, the dustbuster does not fit tight/ snug & it wobbles back & forth, while on charge. Other than that, works great, great suction & a very good product. I do recommend this product.
- Paula PSuction great!Love that it is cordless. Very easy to use. Seems to be very durable. Attachments are great and love that they are right on the vacuum making them easy to access. Functions well. I use it especially to vacuum up my cat's kitty litter that he drops all over the place. Suction is great and easy to empty the container.
- Collin RhodesGreat handheld vacuum.Works amazing, is able to get just about any crack in my car, and has good speed with sucking in any debris. It is a game changer for anybody looking to save a few dollars a week at a car wash vacuum. Compact size, fits perfectly in my trunk storage unit, and the wireless charging plate works like a charm. Battery life also lasts a good while!
- ThomasBlue ????Battery died after 3 years, not user replaceable.I like the long extendable pickup and overall sucking power. Not a big fan of the counter-top charge base (I would have preferred a wall mount).
But after 3.5 years of light-duty use (under five minutes run time each week) my CHV1410L vacuum's battery died. Unfortunately the battery is NOT a user-replaceable item. That's a shame because the vacuum still looks new. And it would be wasteful to toss it in the trash just because Black & Decker didn't design this appliance so we could change the battery pack. For this reason the vacuum only gets 3 stars from me.
Fortunately I have many years experience working on electronic equipment. I have rebuilt a few lithium battery packs too. So I decided to replace my vacuum's batteries. This is not a project for the average person, so skip this idea if you are not familiar with lithium battery safety.
I disassembled the vacuum by removing six screws. Once inside I found that the battery pack can be removed by unplugging a connector. As luck would have it, the battery pack's plastic case is held together by two plastic tabs that snap apart. Inside the case are four (4) 18650 size lithium batteries and the cell charge protection circuit board.
The rebuilding process was straight forward. I used four 18650 high current flat top cells (rated 20A continuous operation). These type of cells are found in some high capacity vaping devices. While soldering the cells it is critical to avoid overheating them. I used a temperature controlled iron, added flux, and worked fast to minimize the heat dwell time. The cells I used came from Amazon, but the vendor removed the listing shortly after I purchased them (so I'm unable to provide a link).
I don't intend this review to be a battery rebuilding instructable. Instead, I'm here to say that the battery will probably last 3-4 years and then your vacuum will become another electronic landfill waste item. This problem isn't limited to this product, but such a shame that manufacturers don't do more to break us from modern society's throw-away habits.
EDIT Dec-12-2022: It's been many years since I wrote my original review. Just wanted to come back and report that I'm still using the Black & Decker cordless vacuum, which is nearly 10 years old. The rebuilt battery pack is still going strong too. Perhaps I'll return in another five years and report similar good news. :) - KateLightweight and easy to useThis is a great cordless dust buster for vacuuming up crumbs in the kitchen, cleaning out the car, picking up dirt on steps and dust on floors and furniture,. I keep the base plugged in so the unit is always fully charged and ready to use whenever I see a speck of dirt. I’ve had a corded unit for years, but I’ll likely get rid of it now that I have this one.
