- Douglas HathawayI like this tape measure.I've been using this tape for about a week now. Some of the reviews indicated that the hook on the end was loose and affected the accuracy of the ruler. I discovered I had exactly the same problem. However, upon examination I realized that if the rivets were set better, it would put it back into an accurate position. For that reason I used a peen hammer and was able to tighten up the rivets to where they do not slip anymore. It didn't take very much pressure and I did not hammer hard. Just a few taps and things tightened right up. It is now dead on accurate.
I like the heft and feel of the housing of the tape in my hand. I enjoy the separate finger break underneath and the regular locking mechanism works well. I also enjoy that I can stretch the tape out somewhere between 10 and 11 ft before it kinks and falls. That's much better than the other tapes that I've been using.
I hope that it will last as long as it feels like it will.
