Top reviews from the United States
- Jeffery wardThe Mighty Mini !! Best Bang for your buck!Locks 8 sats in my 1st of 3 floor condo, in Alaska. Have 4 of these installed on my FPV quads and they all work perfectly. They are a little slow when they first try to connect in a new area. They usually take around 2 to 3 minutes for it to lock in 7+ sats (i can fly on 5 but have it set up to only arm on 7+ locks). once it locks them for the first time, it can reconnect within a few seconds after power cycling my quads. I consistently have 12 to 17 satellites locked at all times outside. I have never had it drop signal or fail. So far, I could not be happier with my purchases. In fact I'm on here right now with the intent to purchase two more, and I figured that since it is such a good product that I should give it a review....so here we are.
- Val KGood signal, small sizeRecommend, good quality, small size and weight, basic functional as a big GPS module, but small enough to put it on a 3inch drone. Just watch if the price not too high, buy it. I bought for 18$, but I think this would be better for 12$ or 15$.
- JamonAwesome TINY module for Meshtastic nodesBought one of these to cram into a meshtastic enclosure and it is absolutely MINI! This thing can't be bigger than the size of a nickle, yet it's able to connect to just as many satellites as my other modules?! That's insane to me. For the price and size, I am not sure it can really be beat, at least as far as modules you can get off of Amazon. Definitely worth it.
LEDs on the back of the antenna are very bright and easily shine through 3D printed plastic (if that's your thing). Wiring to the module was already done out of the box, I just snipped off the grove connector and hooked it up directly to a Heltec V3. Been running that combo with a 2000mah battery for a few days now with about 20% battery remaining, shockingly so I feel the power consumption is a little better than the other boards I was using before.
Super worth it for the size, cost and performance of this little guy! - Ray RayWorks ok.All these m80s-m100s / GPS units in the last few years are ok at best- glitchy and not very reliable when most needed.
Maybe INAV is better than cleanflight/BetaF, but it works like all the rest.
skystars aio45amp J was the flight controller also I soldered it in to Lux f7 mini FC worked perfect. - John Kruegeras described, works fineworks good for a mini. takes a few minutes for 12+ sats but when it finds them they stay locked. Good product for my 2 inch drone
- Rebecca MiddletonGreat value and quality! The gps module was exactly what I needed. Fit perfectly and works flawlessly with my lilygo t-deck. Sat connection within 2 mins and while indoors. Recommend this module if your building a t deck.
- ChickenxOA GPS That Barely WorksCould it had been the item I did receive is defective?
HGLRC Mini M100 GPS does take more than 5 minutes to recognize 3 satellites only, in an area my other drone's GPS connects to 22 satellites at least, and in less than a minute the GPS locks to the necessary satellites (and this when I didn't use the drone for weeks too).
Even when the HGLRC Mini M100 GPS locks to 8 satellites, after about 10 minutes, and exposing the drone to the sky directly, I do lose these satellites while flying, and drop down to 5 and 3 satellites.
I do not understand why other reviews speak of HGLRC Mini M100 GPS very well. Are they happy with 8-11 satellites max that drops to 3-5 while in flight and not being able to read your drone speeds?
Of course, I tried the GPS months later I purchased it. Otherwise, I would had returned the GPS, or at least, ask for a replacement. - Andre20 Sats, Fast Lock, Betaflight 4.4.2, Rekon35The stock M8 is still a good GPS, but it was giving me some connection issues on BF 4.4.2 with my Zeus10 aio (Target "ZEUSF4EVO") on the Rekon35.
It was a shot in the dark, but I upgraded to this M10 and got 12 sat after 2~ minutes on the ground.
20 sat locked after about 1 minute of flying.
First test of GPS rescue landed within 5 meters of the home point.
I'm super happy with this tiny M10 GPS unit!
A few notes that may or may not be relevant.
I copper tape warped the wires, than covered them with heat shrink.
I ran the 5v and ground to the receiver 5v and ground so I can power the GPS when plugged into USB as well as battery.
This will also allow you to "warm up" the GPS with a power bank before powering the whole quad and cooking your VTX.
Alternatively you can flip your VTX into pit mode for a faster GPS lock when at a new location.
