- DustinWorked PerfectlyI bought these because my house had carpet which was removed, leaving a huge gap at the bottom of several doors. I really needed something like this product to keep the cold air out and it worked perfectly. The sticky side stayed on for awhile but the repeat use of opening the door may have weakened the adhesive. I would still purchase this product again given the right situation because it kept the cold air out and the tape isn't easily visible on the doors. I didn't want it to be obvious to anyone that walked in the room that this tape was on my doors.
- Vu N.This stuff is great. Have to see how long this will hold up though.I saw an ad for a similar product on X, so I searched Amazon. The price I found seemed reasonable, so I took a chance. Prep is key. Clean the surface well with degreaser/cleaner and dry. Heat definitely helps if it's not sticking at first. One door, it stuck fine on the first application. I went down again to pressing firmly on the adhesive side to make sure it stayed on. The second door took a bit more work. It didn't stick at first, so I tried a heat gun on the door to warm it up, then on the strip to help activate the adhesive better. That did the trick. It's been several weeks and it has stayed on very well. It definitely helps cut down any draft.
- Tim and Karissa Larsonhelps retain heatuse this around our sliding glass door in the winter and it seals it pretty good for about a month and then it started falling off. I wish that adhesion was better. It did help our house Stay warmer though.
- StephenJust arrived todayThese were very easy to install and are designed to cover most gaps from what I can see. It is 20° F right now outside and I placed these strips on 2 doors and it instantly took the cold draft away. I guess we will see how long the sticky side lasts, I should have wiped doors down with alcohol. I bought 2 rolls incase of any issues.
- Allison H.Could be stickerIsn’t very sticky however it did the trick in a pinch. It did prevent most of the cold outdoor air from coming in during really cold days. Wouldn’t recommend for long term use aka more than a day or two as it will likely fall.
- Brad McAllisterWorksI was really skeptical about if it actually works, and was blown away. I have one room in my house that has a huge 10’ sliding door, a large window, as well as a door leading into the garage. It has always been a different temperature from the rest of the house because of the glass and the door, and I have tried all sorts of different items to reduce the draft, but nothing has worked. In fact, I use to watch TV in the room with an electric heater, but the cost of running it constantly wasn’t worth it. So, I ended up moving where I watched TV because it was either replace all three items in the room, with a huge amount on the glass door, or stay and run up the electric bill.
I’ve tried the stuff that goes around the door frame inside where the door closes, the thing that slides under the door like a taco shell, using the plastic heat shrink stuff around the window which leaves marks, and even stuffed cracks with toilet paper…but nothing worked as well as this.
We just went through one of the coldest weeks we’ve had and I could barely tell a difference when I walked into the room, and definitely don’t need a space heater now. It took me literally a few moments to put it on all three places (like 15 minutes), and the draft was gone.
Pros: 1. The way it sticks it doesn’t fall off, but it is easy to take off without damage. 2. Works AWESOME on doors stoping drafts without always messing to fix it like the taco thing you slide under the door. 3. Works well on sliding doors and windows without worrying about how it will work after you open/close it. The way that it is angled and made, it stays in position and keeps the air out.
Cons: the clear isn’t really clear as much as I wished it was. It is clear, but has a frosted look about it. My door and trim around the windows is brown, and I thought the clear would be best…but it stands out more than it’s clear. That is it!!!
I am literally stunned on how well it works!! - ExcellentBad adhesiveThe product failed within just four days. The adhesive quality is extremely poor and lacks durability. It detached so quickly that I could not even consider returning it in its original condition since is been used. The surface applied was glass and aluminum, which typically allows strong adhesion, yet the item still fell off with minimal contact. Overall, the glue performance is unacceptable.
- ArgentumTape is great. Makes an immediate positive differenceAttached this tape first to a door that did not meet the floor properly. It immediately stopped the draft from the closet.
We went around the whole house looking for drafts and applying this tape to doors that just didn't seal up well.
You have to check for drag and snag but it you are thoughtful it will install easily and work well for a long time. We waited to review to see if it would hold up to the extremes we put it under.
It works well in both cold and really hot situations. We use it to seal a *sauna* as well as an outside door that get really cold. Both ends of the temp gauge are holding up great.
Recommend it. Get an appropriate length for your needs. 1/2" or 1/4" etc....
