- JCEasy to useThis is my second time purchasing these kasa smart plugs. They are very easy to use and install. The app is also very easy to use, understand and create schedules. I can also turn them on and off from the app. I currently am using them for all my christmas lights and trees and they work great. They stay connected although a couple of times they have gotten disconnected. But I feel that is normal and doesn't happen often.
They also work great for saving money because I dont forget to turn things off now , and if I do I can turn it off from my phone. - Vine & DandyThe Smart Plug That's Actually Smart About SetupI've used a lot of smart home gadgets, and often the "easy setup" promised on the box turns into a frustrating session of troubleshooting. The Kasa Smart Plug HS103P4, however, is the rare exception. It lives up to its name by being incredibly easy to get up and running, especially with the ecosystems that matter most to me: SmartThings and Alexa.
The initial setup with the Kasa app itself was a breeze. I had all four plugs connected to my Wi-Fi in a matter of minutes. The app guides you through the process step-by-step, and it just worked flawlessly, with no unexpected connection drops or firmware issues.
But the real magic happened when I linked it to my smart home hubs. For Alexa, it was as simple as enabling the Kasa skill and letting it discover the new devices. Within seconds, I was using voice commands to turn my lights and appliances on and off. The response time is instantaneous, and the reliability has been perfect—Alexa has never failed to control a Kasa plug.
Integrating with SmartThings was equally painless. The connection process was straightforward, and the plugs appeared in my SmartThings app with all the functionality I needed. This has allowed me to incorporate them into more complex automations, like having a lamp turn on automatically when I open the door.
In a market full of smart plugs that can be a headache to install, the Kasa HS103P4 stands out as a dependable, user-friendly choice. If you're looking for a plug that plays well with Alexa or SmartThings and won't leave you frustrated, this is the one to get. - DJs TutorialsEasiest Smart Plug Setup and Smart Home IntegrationThese Kasa Matter Smart Plugs KP125M were one of the easiest Smart devices to setup and use. Once you download and install the Kasa app on your phone or tablet, setup is a breeze. The app will walk you through step-by step and you will be up and running in just a few minutes. Within the Kasa app you can set a Schedule, Timer, Away Mode, Smart Scene, or view Power Usage for each plug.
Very easy to integrate to any smart home ecosystem like Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Home Assistant (via TP-Link integration or Matter), for voice commands or to create more complex automations besides the basic On/Off at certain times.
Another great thing about these plugs is, the size of them. It does not block the other outlet so you can still use it with a second smart plug or connect a power cord without it interfering with it.
If you ever loose power, these smart plugs will reconnect to your internet on their own and you don't loose any of the programing that you have set up. Since these plugs are Matter which means if you have a Matter hub, even if you loose internet you can still control them and the automations you set up will still continue to work. You can create automations that will work with other smart devices and control everything using only one app.
These plugs are perfect for people that have pets (like me) and don't get home before the sun sets. Setup a timer or scene to turn a light On, and your pets won't be in the dark until you arrive home. Connect your Christmas Tree lights to it and you don't have to reach for the plug each day to turn the lights On or Off.
Overall I find these smart plugs very easy to use and worth purchasing. You won't be disappointed
Note: If you do not have a Matter hub and not planning on getting one, I would not purchase these ones. Get the HS103P4 Wi-Fi instead and save some money.
