The live-feed FPV view is smooth and responsive, giving a true “bird’s-eye” feel while flying. Flying is easy and intuitive, even though I’m no expert: one-key takeoff/landing, altitude-hold, and headless mode make it beginner-friendly while still being fun for casual flyers. I also love how compact and portable the drone is: it packs up easily for travel or weekend adventures.
Battery life is solid, controls are responsive, and overall stability is good (though I avoid strong winds for best results). I remember crashing my first one often or it was drifting a lot and some of the controls weren’t as intuitive. They provide two batteries which is plenty of time for me. The 2K video quality crisp and clear. It comes with a case to safely and securely store it. I’m looking forward to using it in some of my travels.
- VMPerfect 2K HD FPV Drone for the FamilyI loved this drone! It has been very easy to set up for beginners like myself. I was able to install the app, connect the drone to my phone and get it up and flying within minutes. The controls are intuitive and easy to learn. The drone is able to fly forward, backward and sideways, simply by tilting the controller up, down, left and right. The altitiude hold function helps capture pictures and videos without much effort.
The drone is very portable and well made. The included extra batteries allow for extended flying time. The 2K Ultra HD camera provides for great resolution pictures and videos. First off, it actually looks cool with those glowing blue lights, my 12-year-old thinks it’s the coolest thing she has seen. Setup was easy: charge the two batteries, download the app, and it literally took off with one button. I even I had it hovering in the living room in under 5 minutes.
The 2K camera is decent for the price. Colors are vibrant, and the feed to the phone is smooth with barely any lag. My daughter's been doing flips and flying it around like a pro. Altitude hold works great, it just hovers in place when you let go of the sticks, perfect for beginners.
Flight time is about 12-13 minutes per battery, so having the second one is clutch. It’s survived a couple crashes into trees and the fence already, props are fine, just a few scuffs.
If you want a legit fun drone without dropping $300+, grab this thing. Total steal at this price. Had it flying 5 minutes out of the box. Hadn’t even charged it yet. Not recommended, should charge first. Took right off and hovered about 4’ off the ground. Very stable and maneuverable. Was able to fly it around the living room. Could go outside yet as it was raining. Great starter drone. A lot more sturdy and feels sturdier than my last flimsy drone. Comes with nice travel case extra blades, blade guards and two long life batteries.
- Bob in TNPerfect for beginners.This was my first drone and since the weather has been uncooperative, it took me a while to get around to writing a review. The drone came packaged in a very nice case which allows you to keep everything organized. It comes with extra batteries which allows you extra flying time.
If you are new to this hobby, you may be like me and not be aware that the FAA requires you to have a “Trust certificate” to operate this drone. You can take the quiz online and you must get every answer correct to get the certificate. The course is short and easy so most people will pass it rather easily.
I do not have a cell phone, so I downloaded the app to my iPad. Since I'm in my mid-eighties, the larger display on the iPad is easier for me to see. You can use it without the controller that came with the drone. It does fit in the controller when turned vertically, but it was easier for me to use just the iPad.
I'm still just learning to fly it since we've been having heat indices over 100 degrees just about every day for the last 2 months. With Fall coming, hopefully, I'll get more practice time. I was impressed with the quality of the drone, especially considering the price I paid for it. For someone just starting in this hobby, I think this is a perfect fit. You have a great starter drone with a small investment to help you decide if you want to invest more money to move up to a more expensive model. If you decide that this hobby is not for you, you haven't wasted a lot of money on the experience. I'm very happy with this drone and think most other beginners will be too.
