The design is clever; it extends about a quarter-inch past the camera body, creating a physical buffer that absorbs the impact if you accidentally bump into a wall or a branch. I’ve checked my footage carefully, and the bar doesn't interfere with the 4K field of view at all, which was my biggest concern.
The quality of the ABS material feels sturdy yet has just enough flex to be impact-resistant rather than brittle. I have always looked for way to protect my investment and try to keep all my drones in near new condition if and when possible.
I recently ordered the Neo2 and although this amazing drone has obstacle avoidance and prop guards, the precious and sensitive little camera on the front can and will make contact with something at some point.
Adding this bumper guard seemed like a no brainer for me. It weighs practically nothing. Snaps into place firmly and securely and does not interfere with the camera cover what so ever.
The bumper guard seems to extend past the camera body by roughly 1/4". This gives me peace of mind that my camera will not get struck by anything or let me just say, it's a lower possibility.
I haven't noticed this bumper guard causing any obstruction my videos which is a bonus.
For the price, I recommend ordering one. Cheap insurance and quality protection. A+ - AZ MTBerfalls right offdoesn't have anything to hold on to securely. Terrible design.
