MccaffreyValuable for briningThis product is as described: a heavy duty bag with a very secure zipper closure, along with reusable clips and heavier-gauge string to ensure that the bag is triple-sealed while it’s doing its job. The bottom has a deep gore, which allows the bag to stand up even as brine is being added. I had it on the kitchen counter while filling it with 3 gallons of water, all the ingredients for the brine, and a 12 pound turkey (which fit easily as this bag is designed for larger birds). The plastic, which gave off no odor or taste, stayed upright through the whole process and the gore allowed the base to “broaden” and remain stable on the counter.
We were able to lift the entire turkey in its bag into an extra-large bowl and into the refrigerator.

- WandrwomanThe Brining Bag To Get!This is the second year I used this particular brining bag and it is all around perfect. It’s thick, it’s huge, and it’s easily sealed.
This Thanksgiving I used one of these bags to buttermilk brine a 19lb butterflied turkey. The bagged turkey covered in 4 quarts of brined and herbed buttermilk sat on a sturdy half sheet pan for three days in my fridge. I inverted the bag daily and squished the contents every few hours.
There were no leaks, no punctures, no issues.
There is a sturdy zip lock top closure which I also secured with the supplied large plastic clip. I never needed to use the supplied string or small clip.
As an extra plus, you get two brining bags: one to use now and one to use next time!
Highly recommended.
