- MewomeowAMAZING WATER BOTTLEThis cup does NOT leak unless it’s upside down and if THE STRAW PART IS OPENED water will leak out of the straw obviously. I also love that the cup, lid, and straw are all one color; the look is so seamless! The price is low and the quality is HIGH! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a tumbler upgrade. Other lids have places where it feels like you can't ever get them clean, but these lids are smooth and easy to wash. Having a handle is also the best. It's also so modern and sleek. The handle is comfortable and doesn’t feel weird in your hand like some do (especially when it’s full). It keeps drinks cold forever! I haven’t had any issue with my drink not being perfectly cold til the very end. The quality is amazing. Lightweight but still durable and not too heavy in the hand. Water stays ultra cold with ice for at least 24 hours. Haven’t tried longer than that yet but I’m sure it will successfully do that, too.
- PrimaBeautiful Pink ColorI absolutely love the color of this YETI Rambler 42 oz Tumbler. The Wildflower Fuchsia shade is what drew me in, and it’s even more stunning in person. I own several pink Yeti products already, so this color complements the rest of my collection. I’ve always trusted YETI for their quality and durability.
The large size is perfect for someone like me who needs to stay well-hydrated throughout the day, and the handle makes it much easier to carry, especially when multitasking around the house. I’ll admit, it’s a bit heavy and large for my petite frame, but it’s exactly what I need for all-day hydration. The cheerful pink color also makes it easy to spot quickly.
My drinks stay cold for hours, though I mostly use this tumbler at home, so I can’t yet speak to how it performs outdoors in warmer weather. The price is fair and in line with other YETI products, and the quality is consistently excellent, but this is not leakproof, which I expect in a tumbler with straws. - RockyklmDurable, leak proof, well manufactured (all metal). This is my 3rd Yeti! First was a gift, second was one that would fit in my car holder, and the 3rd is a gift for a friend!
Water and ice stay cold all day. Easy to travel with. The lid does not leak. Won't break. I love all of the different colors! - Spunkygirl83Get yourself one!I bought this cup because I really like the smaller capacity cup. I like that this cup is even bigger at 42 ounces so it means I can fill it up even more with my favorite drink!! It’s a Yeti cup so you know it’s quality and will retain the hot or cold for hours on end!! The literature in the cup says it’s dishwasher safe but I personally hand wash all of my yeti products!! This cup also fits well in a 2008 Honda cup holder and is super easy to take with you wherever life takes you!!! The design of this cup is like all the other cups Yeti makes so you know it’s proportionate to its size and will retain ice for hours on end. I can say it will in south Texas!! I think all these cups leak out the straw but after market items will help with it to be leak free!!!
- Jason G.My favorite cup and everyday carry.Love the beekeeper color. These cups are heavier than most of my other stainless steel cups of similar size and I think that may make them better at temperature retention. Love it so much I got a second one for my wife because we fought over who gets to use mine. It’s not entirely leakproof but I can confidently shake my cup around to mix my coffee without anything spilling out, I just wouldn’t leave it on its side in a bag. All other uses I’ve never had a spill even after two drops from the counter.
- Sheryl TyrakowskiVery sturdy Yeti Tumblervery sturdy, keeps ice cold for hours. I am fine with it but basically it is an steel thermos. so anyone with weaker arm or hand strength would realize very fast the mug is heavy. the sealed lid is on very tight and hard to pull off sometimes. Overall I like it.
- PlaceholderAwesome tumbler!Love this tumbler! Beautiful color and keeps my water ice cold for days. Better than any other Tumbler I have had. It also matches my new yeti cooler, which I also adore!
- Andrew KDifferences worth noting between 35oz and 42oz - general review and comparisonSo this review will actually be for two tumblers, the 35oz and 42oz which are similar but distinctly different in a few ways but I'll start with similarities first.
Both provide solid cold/hot retention as is expected of most brand recognizable tumblers. I feel that most of these have gotten to the point that differences in performance should no longer be the deciding factor when considering an established brand.
Both use a friction fit lid with the traditional rubber flange - when testing these out the 35oz was slightly more stubborn and not as "supple" when I first got it. It slowly broke in though to where it is relatively easy to remove. My 42oz doesn't fight me at all, but this could just be slight production variance.
Splash resistance is good but spills are possible if inverted as this has a straw opening that does not seal. Speaking of the straw it's a rigid design that favors an outer edge. Being using to Hydroflask and a lesser known brand (Elemental) there are some advantages/disadvantages. First the straw is clear so it's easy to see if there's any debris/build up which is an improvement over both those alternatives. The diameter is large enough to accommodate brushes for cleaning which is not true for the Elemental. Being a hard rigid plastic rather than silicone I've found less cleaning is needed and doesn't add potential aftertaste as much as the Hydroflask. The straw is a trapped design where it can't fall out if the bottle is inverted - the others have different methods of straw retention but I feel all are adequate. The straw being on an outer edge means that the angle which you raise the cup and even hand usage may create issues negatively impacting function. The others have a center punch which may be more preferable for those that use cups in either hand, may sip with hands full, etc.
The paint coat on both feels very durable and rich with good saturation bringing excellent color. Both feel quite durable but I have not dropped them and have already purchased boots for protection because the fit and finish is worth maintaining for me.
Speaking of boots - none come standard. More companies appear to be including boots with their offerings or even integrating it into the bottom of the cup (like Corkcicle). This isn't exactly a negative, but as the cost of the cup tends to be high compared to competitors an additional cost to protect it is worth mentioning.
The handle feels extremely solid compared to some other designs - I don't feel like it will break or loosen in any way. In addition it doesn't have a rubberized coating or partial grip like some other brands not mentioned - rubber coatings are notorious for eventually deteriorating and being hard to remove. They tend to get "sticky" as they age and no amount of regular cleaning gets rid of it - certain "rugged" products are prone to doing this for example.
The differences:
35oz: I want to love this one, I really do. It has a lot going for it - a wider range of colors, being just short enough to fit the ice machine at work while offering the highest capacity I can get away with having the extra +5oz over competitors, and many of the perks listed above. But the handle ergonomics just aren't that great. I doubt I'll find a true alternative due to other constraints like height, but as a man the handle doesn't fit my hand well allowing only for finger tips till the first knuckle or three fingers to second knuckle. Because the handle doesn't fit well it feels off balance making it close to perfect but just not there. I would not find it comfortable to be carrying this one regularly out and about - those with smaller hands are likely to disagree.
42oz: I really like this one, the handle is properly scaled and as a man fits my hand easily for multiple holding styles (hand around or even inside handle works). The only drawback of this is the color selection isn't nearly as large not featuring a lot of the LE colors the 35oz had which is unfortunate (I found the colors offered on the 35oz better). If you're not super picky about the colors or can find one you like there really aren't any complaints making it an excellent offering from Yeti worth considering. The +2oz stands out over the competitors as do most of the perks mentioned above.
