- BruceAir pump works great!I was skeptical about this but thought I would try it as I liked the idea. The "kit" comes with a foil cutter, pour spout, vacuum stopper, and, of course, the air pump opener. I like that the needle portion has a protective plastic cage around it. The needle inserted through the cork easily and pumping a few times did, indeed, remove the cork. It was quite easy and kind of neat to see. The plastic cage also has a plastic washer which you use to removed the cork you just freed from the wine bottle. As of now, I have nothing negative to say about this air pump cork remover
- joe m.6 starsLove this method for removing cork. Most of the time, i have no trouble with removing corks with a cork screw, but every now and then, parts of the cork end up in the wine. Once, I even broke a piece off of the bottle. This method is just plain logical, and i works. I may break in 2 weeks, and if it does, I will update.

- VICTORYThis is a steeaaalOver the years, I have purchased several of the electric bottle openers. They work great, but my spouse tends to not pay attention to what they are doing, and usually ends up breaking it; seriously, I don't even know anymore. I'd seen several other styles of bottle openers that use a pump type method, but they all had required some type of cartridge; which is obviously something that would need to be replaced. Then I found this. Stab the cork with the pointy end and pump a bit like blowing up a ball. It even has guides that fit snug around the neck of the wine bottle, so you can't tilt it in a million different directions when you're trying to use it; which I'm pretty sure is how my electric ones keep breaking. Once it's inside the cork, you pump it about bit, and you can feel the cork starting to be released. I pumped the bottle I was opening 3 times, and then was able to gently pull the cork the rest of the way out of the bottle. Made quite a satisfying pop. I do NOT recommend using this for a carbonated bottle though. Pretty sure that would be disastrous. Once the cork is free from the bottle, removal from the opener is just as simple; simply slide down the plastic disc that permanently stays on the opener, and voila! Nice clean removal of the cork, and it still looks pretty. While the plastic components of this do seem like they may not last a substantial drop or a long time, for the price, you absolutely cannot beat it. It also comes with a foil cutter, aerator, and a vacuum stopper! Not just a stopper...a VACUUM stopper. Needless to stay, when this one eventually dies on me, I'll just be purchasing a new one. Honestly, they could raise their price on this, and I'd still buy it. But for now, take advantage.
- S. MolineWorks, but not greatThe opener doesn't work as easily as it appears on TV: press very hard to penetrate the cork, then pump and pump and pump and pump..... to get the cork out. The bottle "sealer" also requires several pumps - way more than the T ad shows - to seal the bottle. I would not recommend this product.
