- Mark W.BruMate for the Win!BruMate is by far my favorite Tumbler of choice. This tumbler is crazy good. From its design to functionality, its truly fantastic. First, the top has an incredibly easy to use closure that genuinely prevents spills. I can toss it in my bag or have it next to my laptop without worrying about leaks, game changer! It fits perfectly in smaller car cupholders. Keeps hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold for hours! I mean my ice was still there hours later. Top of the dishwasher safe, sometimes I just wash by hand. The Matte ones I have even put in the bottom rack of the dishwasher with no problem, the shinny ones should stay on top rack. Love the color Dune! Such a light color gray so neutral. Winner!
- TXgunsnstuffSpill proof travel mug easily beats Yeti for price and quality!Best hot/cold insulated travel mug, hands down!
Easy to clean, spill proof setting on lid, stainless steel straw, sized to fit the majority of vehicle cup holders, yet still holds 40 ounces of liquid. - LoneEagleExcellent Value.Old Man Trucker Dan here,
Just bought this 40oz. Tumbler & finally someone has done their homework in the design department concerning the lid. The lid can be screwed on at any position & your still drinking from the center of the lid & in locked position it will not leak. Well made, Keeps Hot hot & Cold cold, simple no leak lid & Tumbler looks Great. Best one I’ve bought out of 13 so far in the last 20 Years. Worth the $, nice job Brumate!!!!!???? - Jesus LeonGood cupThe BrüMate Era 40 oz Tumbler with Handle and Straw is fantastic. The build quality feels solid and durable with a sleek finish, and the stainless steel keeps drinks cold (or hot) for hours. The included handle makes it comfortable to carry, and the straw adds convenience for sipping on the go.
It truly lives up to being leak-proof — I haven’t had any spills, even when it’s tipped over in a bag. The lid seals tightly and the base fits well in most cup holders. Overall, excellent insulation, thoughtful design, and high quality for the price — definitely worth it! - Dianna CThe BEST WATER BOTTLE ever!!!This is the best water bottle I’ve ever owned. It’s stylish and cute and 40 oz makes it perfect. One of the best features of this bottle is its leak-proof and has a stainless steel straw! The straw makes it the best bottles out there. The water always that cold and crisp. Also the locking feature is great and every single part can come off for proper cleaning. There is no room for mold because of this. Another plus is the beautiful colors. Do not hesitate to get this amazing bottle. Better than the plastic straws from Stanley and others. Amazing!!!
- AlisonBetter than a $tanleyI love this so much more than my Stanley. It looks and feels like a high-quality product. It truly does not leak when it’s accidentally tipped over. I knocked it over in the car and gasped until I realized not a drop had spilled. I really appreciate the stainless straw but the soft silicon mouthpiece. And I love the color! I’ll probably be back for another one in a larger size and different color! Worthwhile purchase, for sure.
- Ian W.Durable sleek and easy to cleanI’ve had mine for a little under 2 years. Best water bottle I’ve owned. Love the straw and disassembly functions. I have dropped mine numerous times and it’s mostly fine. The bottom picked up a little dent and it wobbles slightly. It keeps my water cool and is easy to clean. I would buy one again if this one dies.
- KatA REVIEW FOR THOROUGH CLEANING! PLEASE READ!!!!I bought my BruMate nearly a year ago on September 1st. I never planned on writing a review because like many other reviewers already stated, this is a really nice leakproof bottle. I like how there is a wide opening so I can fit my hand into it to clean as opposed to using those brushes and I like the overall design.
However, I decided to write this review because (in full transparency and honestly) I was having difficulty finding videos that provided suggestions on how to reaaaaaallllllllyyyyyy clean all the nooks and crannies of the BruMate lidx. Anyone who has used these kinds of tumblers know that cleaning them regularly is important to prevent mold build up, but if I'm being completely honest, there are nights when I come home from work and am so exhausted that I barely want to eat, let alone wash my BruMate. No, the tumbler is NOT difficult to wash, but I get so lazy sometimes!
Obviously if you're not washing it regularly and allowing the parts to dry properly, mold may develop. I had this happen to me twice. I think I've found a solution to cleaning the BruMate very thoroughly now, especially without a dish washer or dryer, so this review might be most helpful for the hand-washing people out there.
The first time I noticed mold buildup in the lid was in the area seen in photos 3, 4, and 5. These parts are where the straw connects to the lid and the area that keeps liquids from spilling out once you twist the silicone straw to make the bottle leakproof. I noticed that regular straw cleaners such as the one in photo 7 didn't do a good job with cleaning inside these parts of the lid at ALL. It was super difficult to get inside there and simply rinsing it with water won't do any good, especially if you end up drinking something with sugar in it (I use liquid IV sometimes). Since I haven't seen anyone talking about having difficulty with cleaning this area, I never really thought anything of it until one day I held the lid up to the light and saw mold in the spot I pointed to in photo 3 and 4! I was so repulsed that I wanted to order a new lid IMMEDIATELY, but the BruMate website doesn't seem to sell these lids separately...
I tried cleaning it with some paper towel and toothpicks, but it did NOT WORK. I ended up using my WATER PICK to power wash that nastiness away and it worked, but i was SO GROSSED OUT that began washing it every night instead of like 3x a week (that might be gross to some of you, but I'm remaining honest to provide full context).
What prompted me to write this review is the incident that happened last night/this morning. I washed my BruMate last night and left everything unassembled to air dry. This morning as I went to refill by bottle, I noticed that once again, in the lid of the BruMate, there was dried mold collected around the area where the straw twists into the lid (refer to photos 1 and 2). I hadn't noticed issues with this part of the lid before and was shocked because it was SOOO noticeable this morning but on other days I washed the lid, I never saw anything when it dried! Disgusted doesn't begin to express how I felt and I literally ordered 1 stanley and 1 hydroflask on my drive to work because I told myself I wanted to throw this thing away because it felt so difficult to clean and maintain. When I got home from work, I was looking around for some kind of small tool (photo 6, literally a cuticle pusher LMAO) I could use to try and see if the rubber piece (photo 1) was removable and that I had nothing to lose since I truly believed I'd be throwing this away lol. To my surprise, it WAS removable and I didn't tear or rip it in the process. I used the straw cleaner from photo 8 to wash everything in addition with a toothpick and now everything is completely clean. It's a simple solution, but I didn't realize I would have these problems until the problems happened lol...
While seeking advice and support from videos on youtube, tiktok, and instagram, nothing related to the problem I had. The videos simply showed the tumbler's leakproof quality, design, and overall function but not how to do a deep clean, so it made me feel like I was the only one having these issues and maybe I am because perhaps everyone else washes the tumbler every night. However, maybe this might prove to be useful for someone else out there. The bottle IS worth it, it DOES keep my drinks cold (especially with ice), it IS leakproof, and it IS pretty. Now I will return the other bottles I bought because I know how to clean this thing SUPER well if needed. A regular wash per night should reduce the amount of "serious" cleaning that's needed.
However, this experience makes me wonder how much better a dishwasher is at cleaning the BruMate because water can still get trapped under the rubber ring, and I wonder if a dishwasher's water pressure alone is enough to thoroughly clean under the part of the lid that makes it leakproof. That being said, I don't know if I LOVE the design of the lid itself and wish there was an easier way to take it apart and clean everything. That's one of the reasons why I considered buying a stanley before I bought this one a year ago because the stanley is SOOOO easy to take apart and truly wash everything. The BruMate has a lot of small parts that need to be carefully cleaned in my opinion. I still enjoy it, though.
I hope this ends up helping someone else in the future!
