  • The first twenty-five years
Amazon put me through it to actually receive my set but it was with the hassle and wait. It’s a beautifully designed collection from a director I’ve been blessed, and frustrated by, throughout his singular and strange career. For someone who has, to cite the cliche, become his own genre, it’s exciting to revisit those first three out of the gate. What a heater. After that it gets scattershot for a while before landing maybe his masterpiece in Budapest.

As I get older I’m trying to appreciate these sets arriving within my lifetime more. I’ve been waiting for El for over twenty years. Long live physical media. This is a stunning addition to my collection.
  • Beautiful
This just delivered, and it may be the most satisfying purchase I have ever made. It's so ridiculously and thoughtfully over designed in a way that feels like Wes himself made this just for me. The films speak for themselves, but if you love Wes then I promise you will feel an immediate emotional attachment to this little box. The 4 page letter and individual booklets for each film are wonderful and add such a lovely touch.
  • 10 high quality scans with superb presentation.
The 4k scans look amazing and the commentary tracks have been very fun so far. It’s also quite a good value if you were already going to buy all 10 from criterion eventually anyway.
The “library” presentation is very unique and look great on a shelf.
  • Wes Anderson criterion collection
    Video is outstanding
  • A BAD RESTORATION JOB! Abysmal HDR & Wrong Aspect Ratio.
    Would NOT advise buying this!!!
Based on a 4K HDR standpoint these “restorations” are dim and not up to HDR standards. They’re also cropped wrong. You’d be better off waiting for the price to go down if this is a must own for you. Don’t spend $350 on THIS ????
  • Be aware- Half of these titles are upscales from 2K
I haven't watched these yet, but I have gone through the packaging. What people should know, and has been misrepresented, is that 5 of the titles are upscaled from 2K. Darjeeling, Fox, Moonrise, Budapest and Dogs have all been upscaled from a 2K digital intermediate. This is a big disappointment for me, especially at this price.
  • A must own
    Beautiful collection.
  • Nice set
Love the boxed set. Wouldn’t pay msrp, but wait for Criterion sales (2x a year).
