Top reviews from the United States

  • Great Acting/Complex Story
The film plays out as part courtroom drama but primarily concerns a psychiatrist who believes he will unlock the clinical diagnosis of evil but finds something else during his interviews with Nazi High Command. I am a little surprised at the tepid reaction to this film. It utilizes some gimmicks reminiscent of The Imitation Game, but overall very solid and viewers are challenged along with the psychiatrist. Definitely recommend and certainly one of the strongest films of the year.
  • Please watch this movie…
This movie was incredible. First, the actors were all BEYOND exceptional. Now on to the movie itself. Nuremberg had me feeling every type of emotion on the spectrum (..which is what art is all about), while also teaching me things I had no idea happened. I didn’t know anything about the Nuremberg trials — I’m ashamed to admit I had never even heard that word until this movie trailer came out. After researching, learning more about the trials and how factual this movie is, then actually watching the movie..I was floored. As someone who prefers horror movies over any other genre, this movie showed footage that was beyond anything I had ever seen—in terms of torture, and pure evil. The worst part is that it wasn’t fiction. There was no safety net for my mind to land on after watching it, or telling myself “it’s just a scary movie,” because it wasn’t a scary movie. It was a film based on real life events, from real life people, and their real life, non-fictional and horrific experiences. The things humans are capable of doing — I’m just at a loss for words. This movie needs to be shown in schools everywhere, and I pray it gets the recognition it deserves. All of the performances were Oscar worthy..but in my opinion, it seemed like this specific topic pushed the actors on a more personal level than wanting notoriety for their acting skills. The writing, the performances, everyone involved — all of it appeared to come from a place that no shallow mind of someone only looking for money and awards, could ever present. My eyes have been open for a while now at the state of our country, but this movie should serve as a warning for those who are still looking the other way. You can’t be complacent when it matters the most, just because it’s easier, otherwise you become complicit. I pray to god nothing like this ever happens again. The only way to prevent genocide and allowing the worst of humanity to take over, is by acknowledging the atrocities that have happened, what human beings are capable of, and never forgetting what has been done — otherwise it will happen again.

Needless to say, I cannot recommend this movie enough. I was constantly looking over at my husband in disbelief, but he was glued to the screen every time I looked. Just seeing his reactions… and seeing him quietly wiping away tears while watching some of the footage shown in the trials—it was a first. I can’t explain it, I just know my husband isn’t someone who I see cry during movies. It has some light hearted moments in it for comic relief (not many, given the topic at hand), which were appreciated. I’d say one of the greatest part’s about watching this, is being reminded that even with all of the news/media coverage, the feeling of dread that’s been eating at me the last few years…—I just honestly think watching this movie can restore faith in people, or maybe some empathy at the very least, that no matter how hopeless it can feel—humanity always seems to find its way back, and darkness will always come to light.

*It’s one of those movies that will sit with you for days, weeks, etc. because it is so powerful, so be prepared for that, but please don’t let it deter you from watching. You will be so glad you did. 5 stars is not enough.
  • Notable Film
Great film; true depiction of events; well-acted; highly rec
  • Nuremberg great movie!
This movie was really good! The storyline was very interesting and one I have never known! It has a great selection of actors in here and Russell Crowe was the reason I rented it!
  • Excellent film and timely.
Superb job from Russell Crowe. Oscar worthy. Overall, a fascinating and intelligent script, with occasional blunt object obviousness. I knew nothing of this part of the trials and neither did my husband who's read endlessly about military history. I love Michael Jackson and felt he was wasted, especially since it's the Brit who comes through at the end. This questioning was one of the weakest parts of the film, the dialogues were the best.
  • Wonderfully put together beautifully acting
Russell Crowe and Rodney Malik were off the charts as was the white haired gentleman who played the man who ran in the prison. I know he was from mad men. I don’t know his name love the story. I don’t know if it was true, but I was sad for the Remi, Malik character and Hearing that he committed suicide because in the beginning, he was trying to do the right thing and he just got sucked in, but it was excellent movie very engrossing
  • engaging and thought-provoking
i think this movie was brilliant. there is a tendency, i think, in historical fiction to demonize the antagonists and glorify the protagonists, losing any nuance that might be there. The cast did an amazing job telling the story and it was well written.
  • Great; don’t confuse with old B&W of similar name
Well done! Scary given current times. Past is prologue? Don’t confuse — NOT a reboot of the Nuremburg Trials (with Captain Kirk). This Nuremburg movie focuses on one Nazi general and is good psychological historical story. Based on book by a psychologist lost to history?
