- Stephanie NilesOne of best movies everThis will always be a legendary movie. Good fight scenes, nice movie plot, captivates your attention through whole movie. Definitely a loved classic.
- Bryan CostelloBest video game movie until Sonic's movieIn my opinion, this is the best video game movie from the 90s. The only good one after that is Sonic.
I saw it then, I watched it again now. Still holds up very well. Fighting is decently choreographed as well. - DaniellaNostalgic Action-Packed Fun, Perfect for Family Movie NightAs a parent, I love revisiting classic movies that brings excitement to our family nights, and I picked up the Mortal Kombat (1995) Blu-ray because I love this great classic movie. It’s been a thrilling hit with my older girls, delivering nostalgic action we all enjoyed.
Story and Entertainment: This PG-13 film follows fighters in a high-stakes tournament, packed with iconic characters like Liu Kang and Scorpion, and the cheesy '90s vibe we love—complete with epic fight scenes and that unforgettable techno theme. My 16-year-old and twins were hooked on the martial arts choreography and campy dialogue, while my 4-year-old enjoyed the colorful visuals (with some parental guidance for intense moments). The fast-paced plot keeps everyone engaged for its 101-minute runtime.
Production and Quality: The Blu-ray offers crisp visuals that enhance the vibrant arenas and costumes, making fight sequences pop. The sound quality, especially the iconic soundtrack, amps up the energy on our TV. Bonus features like behind-the-scenes clips add fun context for fans, though not extensive.
Family Appeal: It’s a great balance of action and humor for my older daughters, sparking nostalgic chats about '90s games, while skippable fight scenes keep it manageable for younger viewers. No modern CGI overload—just pure classic fun.
Pros:
Action-packed with iconic Mortal Kombat characters.
Nostalgic '90s vibe perfect for family viewing.
Crisp Blu-ray visuals and sound enhance enjoyment.
Short runtime fits busy evenings.
Cons:
Some fight scenes may be too intense for very young kids.
Limited extras compared to newer releases.
Final Thoughts: Mortal Kombat is a classic I love, delivering high-energy fun that made our family movie night a blast. It’s perfect for fans of retro action or game-inspired films, and I’d highly recommend it for a nostalgic, thrilling watch! - JCD Industries, LLCExcellent Product and SellerThis product has been the most beneficial item I have ever purchased. Love everything about it!!
Everything stated on the features were true and I am so happy I found this seller. TY - Quincy HollandNew MK has nothing on thisThis classic fun adventure is so great all these years later! Great character interaction, fantastic fight scenes, good comedy, awesome music, and a very understandable journey. Unlike 2021 (and many modern games) it doesn’t rely on the fact the series has crazy gore to get your attention. All it needed was that I mentioned before to grab us
- TshGreatGreat
- VerellupineA classic that needs to be rewatchedGreat movie, childhood favorite and so fun to show it to my nephews. They loved the cheesiness of it.
Video played well and the picture and sound are so good. I have the dvd but I’m glad I could get this on digital and watch it whenever I want. - Chris DoughertyIt doesn’t take itself too seriously in a good way!Disclaimer: I have a lot of positive nostalgia around this movie. I fondly remember seeing this in the theater with my brother, who I often played the game with. This movie is such fun! The soundtrack is edgy, fast and conveys the strange fantasy aspect well. The settings were immersive: sometimes otherworldly, sometimes bleak, and sometimes beautiful (i.e. the temple). Their portrayal of fight locations from the game was very well done. Lastly, the actors all really seemed to be enjoying themselves! They knew it wasn’t Shakespere and had fun with it. As long as you go into it with the same outlook and have played Mortal Kombat, I think you’ll enjoy it!
