- The SupervisorEngagingly paced limited series with superb acting and lush locationsExcellent series and superb acting. The series did well to balance details of the long novel into an 8- part screenplay that moves along at an engaging pace that will pique the interest of viewers of all ages. Stunning sets and locations as often seen with PBS Masterpiece creations. This holds up well to the original story, including key aspects of the story in an easily viewable limited series. It made me want to read the novel again…which is a sign of successful screenwriting. Highly recommended.
- PANThis Series Is a Mess....Very Sad!!Its a shame the people who put this series together did not read the book very well. Yes, that does happen when you have a 1200 page book and try to put everything in a movie or series, but in this case, they completely omitted very key points that made the book so famous. I have seen practically every movie and mini series on The Count of Monte Cristo and this one is the most disappointing, insulting, and embarrassing. Alexandre Dumas is rolling in his grave. I do not recommend this series. Save your money....and if you haven't read the book, get the Penguin Classics version. You will not be disappointed. It's a wonderful story and very well translated.
- Shawn_smallFantasticJust finished watching on PBS. Fantastic adaptation from a VERY long (and wonderful) book to a 8 episode mini series. They did have to change some things around and leave out some background plots; but I found it great and am looking forward to owning a physical copy.
- CDGreat adaptationGreat adaptation of the count of monte cristo! So much details. I wish the ending were different like the one with Henry cavill in it but still very good.
