Immediately after I posted a 1-star rating I was contacted by Anne at Ideal Choice Products and offered a solution to my issue, I accepted, as the ukulele itself is well made and a quality choice for the price sold. Our friend is a guitar collector and he was impressed with the quality and sound (once tuned) and thought it perfect for our 5 yo granddaughter. I will look for other products from this company because of the stellar customer service provided. 5-stars!!!

- Denise O'Digital Tuner Not Included As AdvertisedThe item is great, but the digital tuner was not included as advertised. I went online to get support, but my only option was to return or replace the entire item. I just want the digital tuner.
- Amazon CustomerThe ukelele instrument needs tuning quite a lot,especially when the strings are new- this is normal. But it's normal to need fine tuning between songs too.
The tuner clips at the end of the headstock, over the face/hat logo. Comes with 2032 battery and works well. Top string is G, second string middle C, third string up to E, bottom string up to A.
I did notice some of the 'teaching videos' on the internet are a bit 'off' so if you're not a musician- search around for something others recommend! And for 'basic soprano ukelele chord chart' and 'tuning a soprano ukelele'.

- Stephanie GrantPoor Quality. You're Better Off Buying Something Else.I bought this ukulele as a gift for my niece and to teach her how to play. Usually, if you buy an inexpensive instrument, you can expect some quality issues but they can be overlooked within reason. That way, if the child outgrows it or loses interest, it's not a big deal.
However, the tuning pegs do not work properly at all! I expected the strings to stretch and be out of tune when an instrument is new, but the slop in the tuning pegs was ridiculous. You literally could not touch it without the strings being wildly out of tune.
My dad is a guitar tech and he said there was no saving this. The workmanship is just too poor. Save your money and get something better.

- Michael TaylorOnly consider this as a toy, not a serious instrumentThis High Gloss Soprano Basswood Ukulele 21inch Starter Kit for Beginner is perfect for what I ordered it to do. That is to give my 2 and 1/2 year old grandson something to distract him while I try to give his 6 year old sister some basic lessons on her ukulele . It looks nice, and is light weight. Questionable as to whether it will stay tuned. The strings are supposedly nylon, but feel more like plastic. The accessories are minimally acceptable, with the exception that the auto tuner might prove useful as a backup. Tonal quality is rather poor, but may improve somewhat when the strings are "broken in"...All in all it's really a toy.
