- Nick VenduraAmazing versatility and value in a small footprintGood, good, good. But for the price? Great, great, great. Seriously.
Here's what you get: a surprisingly thin pedal with strange two-tone green and white graphics and a three-band EQ (lows, mids, highs). With such a plentiful array of overdrive and distortion modes, on top of the EQ, you can get just about any kind of gain sound you want. It's also fairly quiet on most modes. The very high-gain mode (last one) will bring the noise, but that's to be expected when you're in DimeBag Darryl's passing lane.
The description wasn't entirely clear on what each mode is based on, and I found very little info on the webs, so here's my take on each mode. This is probably not 100% accurate, but I hope it helps.
1) Boost: This is a pretty generic "clean boost." You can get tons of headroom in this mode if you want. Crank the gain all the way and you do get a bit of breakup
2) Overdrive-TS: This is based on the Tube Screamer and is a good clone
3) ODrive Blues: I think this is probably based on the Blues Breaker. It's a pretty chewy overdrive with a little bit of hair.
4) ODrive-DB: This one I'm not entirely sure of. I've heard Dumble, but I not too familiar with a Dumble tone since I don't have $10,000 lying around, and it seems to have too much gain for that, but I guess it's somewhere between a Blues Driver and Blues Breaker.
5) ODrive-Amp: Not sure about this one. Some say it's supposed to emulate an amp ... not sure which one, but might be closest to an American overdrive sound like a Fender.
6) Dist-SCI: Another mystery one, but to my ears, it's emulating a medium-to-high-gain distortion pedal like a Rat or a DS-1.
7) Dist-British: This is the classic Plexi sound, one of my favorite settings
8) Dist-Metal1: This is getting into scooped territory (of course, you have the 3-band EQ to adjust this). It's high-gain, but not into the stratosphere high, though it's the closest to a fuzz setting.
9) Dist-Metal2: And finally, call up that long-haired stoner friend from high school because this is Dimebag resurrected. You can really get some scooped "Cowboys from Hell" sounds on this one. Roll off the mids completely for a balls-to-the-wall metal tone.
Anyway, that's about it. Hope this helps. All in all, this is a pretty dang nice pedal, especially for the price. it's reminiscent of Joyo's Baatsin, but with some different sounds, smaller footprint and cheaper price tag, which is nice. I'm not a pedal snob at all so I'd have no trouble recommending this pedal to anyone. I'm the kind of guy to put a Demonfx pedal next to an Eventide or Strymon. If it's a good pedal, it's worth buying ... and THIS is a good pedal. - Steve MackinnonGreat Tuner!!! For the price hard to beat!!!!For the price it would be hard to find a better replacement. It is a solid little tuner. Works great. Easy to see the display.. its small footprint takes up less space on your pedalboard. Real easy to use and you can tune silently. So the crowd does not have to hear you.!!! Definitely a good buy.
- MandoleroSome good models, demands seperate powerThis has some good amp models with natural sounding beakup and responsiveness. They arent all great though. Some seem to leave a layer of unaffected dry signal. Some just sound a bit more convincing than others. It doesnt play well on a daisy chain with other pedals and makes digital noises in the background but is quiet with its own power supply. For the price, getting a couple of models i like, and having an extra power supply to baby its finickiness, it is still worthwhile. Just not quite 5 star performance.
- dobrogirlGame changerThis is such a game changer for me as I struggle to learn guitar. I can record one track and jam with myself. Really making it easier to learn to improvise. I love that you can layer up to 9 different parts to play back simultaneously. Having the tuner function is an added plus. We'll worth the price.
- KH.Accurate and Compact Tuner That Fits My BoardThis tuner pedal does the job perfectly and looks great on my board. The color LCD display is bright and easy to read, even in dim stage lighting or bright outdoor conditions. It’s compact, leaving plenty of room for my other pedals, and tuning is fast and accurate with minimal tolerance. The bypass mode works flawlessly, keeping my signal clean when the pedal is off, and the aluminum shell feels rugged and durable. Overall, it’s a reliable, well-built tuner that fits seamlessly into both my practice and gigging setups.
- ScottGreat deal for a studio and directThis is an excellent upgrade to my studio setup. Way better than plugins and a great deal.
- JeannieGreat productThis is a great gift for anyone playing an electric guitar. Easy to set up and use.
I definitely recommend this product. - ReviewerHas certain functionalities I NEEDThis particular looper is great for performance! It works so well I got two of them. It has an auto record functionality that you get into it by long pressing either of the small buttons. You'll see a small indicator light that it's on auto record mode, then it starts the recording at soon as it "hears" something. It also has the ability that when you move between loops as the looper is playing, it'll queue up the next loop and play it in time. So it even surpasses much higher priced loopers because of these two useful functionalities.
