- Chris WoolfeGreat product, especially for the price.My main concern was that it would slide on my normal low-pile wool carpet. (I had another one that did slide). Thankfully, the teeth are such that it doesn't slide! It's made of a solid, durable plastic which does not bend easily. The catch here is that it arrives rolled up (and cold). The trick here was to let it warm up inside and to stand in the middle of the roll while I unrolled it. Then you kind of try and fold it from the "bottom" of the roll so that you can at least get one flat edge on the ground. Then you wrestle it to the ground and stack as much heavy things as you can on it for two days. Then it's flat. Also, I thought the lip would bother me but it doesn't.

- Abby PlantCarpet Protection from Desk ChairThis chair mat has done a great job protecting my carpet from wear and tear that could be caused by my desk chair. The plastic is clear and lightweight but still sturdy enough to prevent damage from snags. My chair rolls much more smoothly now, which makes moving around my workspace easier.
The studded underside grips the carpet well and keeps the mat from sliding around. It blends in nicely without being too noticeable. The size is perfect for a standard desk setup, and the lip provides extra coverage under the desk. My only complaint is that it needs to be weighed down for quite some time to stay flat against the floor. The instructions state 24 to 48 hours to prevent curling, but I'm on day 4 and it's still lifting on the ends. I'm hoping it will level out eventually.

- A P NGreat Solution for Rolling Chair on Rug, Office SetupI purchased this chair mat for my home office setup. My floors aren’t carpeted, but I do have a thin rug on the floor, and my office chair sits on top of it. Before using this mat, it was extremely hard to move my chair around. The wheels would sink slightly into the rug and even leave dent marks, which was frustrating during long work hours.
The mat arrived rolled up in a carton. It’s made of very firm, durable plastic, so it’s not easy to flatten right away. Also, the underside has sharp studs designed to grip carpet, so I highly recommend not trying to unroll it alone. It’s much safer and easier with a second person helping while being careful around the spikes.
After placing it down and putting my chair on top overnight, it flattened out nicely. Once settled, the difference was immediate. Moving my chair back and forth and side to side is now smooth and effortless. It glides easily without catching or sinking into the rug.
Since it’s clear and transparent, it’s hardly visible on my carpet, which keeps my office setup looking neat and clean. It doesn’t distract from the overall look of the room at all.
The studded bottom keeps it securely in place and prevents shifting, while the smooth top surface allows seamless chair movement. It also gives me peace of mind knowing it’s protecting my rug from long-term wear, dirt, and pressure marks. The size (36" x 48" with lip) is perfect for my desk area and provides enough coverage for daily movement.

JonesToo Much Give, Even For Thin CarpetThis office chair mat for low-pile carpet may need some improvements. It is very stiff at first, which makes it difficult to handle. The bottom studs are also quite sharp, so caution is needed during setup.
I followed the instructions and flattened it by placing heavy objects on it overnight. It flattened easily, but unfortunately I’m not happy with how it functions. I have very thin, flat carpet and thought this mat would be a good fit. However, when sitting in my chair, the casters indent into the mat, making it hard to adjust my position. If I try to roll forward even an inch or two, the chair rolls back into the indentations.
While the mat is thick and stiff and seems to be good quality, it still has a lot of give. I like the size and the thickness, but it’s just not working well for me.
This particular mat also arrived already opened in the box and appeared to have something spilled on it, so I suspect it may have been a return. - DancingCatAmazon Basics Office Chair Mat for Low PileThis office chair mat from Amazon Basics has been a great addition to my office floor. I put a rug under my desk a few months ago but unfortunately it keeps getting bunched up every time I roll my chair. This mat fixes that! The mat is designed to be used on carpet, it has little grippy plastics on the back to keep it in place. The mat is very stiff and not quite as flexible as I was envisioning. I'm hoping with how stiff it is that it has good longevity as it feels like the kind of plastic that will be prone to cracking. Time will tell. So far I have not had any cracks or splinters and have been using daily for about 2 weeks.
I ordered in the 36 x 48 which is a very generous size. Gives plenty of room to slide in and out from under the desk.
