- Lewis RotenberryFits my DuroMax 15000 generator greatFits my generator perfectly. Would highly recommend. Great price. Good quality.
- Ken CarterDurability of this CoverFits my Duramax 16000 watt inverter/generator great! Very surprised by this product as it is well made and appears very durable for outside use. Did well with our first rainstorm of the season. Happy with purchase!
- Amazon CustomerPerfect fit for 4000/3200 watt Predator generator (26x20x20). Fabric is heavy duty.Using to cover my 4000/3200 watt Predator generator.
Every once in a while, buyers come across a great product. This gen cover is one of those buys! The manufacturer 'nailed it' when they made this.
Apparently, according to a color brochure included in the package, they make many other covers for outside products/use such as grills and furniture etc. Without a doubt I will be purchasing more items from this manufacture as time goes on.
It's much better and heavier material than I expected, and it fits like a glove around my generator.
The manufacturer offers a three year warranty.
My generator has a 10 inch wheel kit installed on it. The cover (26x20x20) fits over both wheels and also over the handle. However, it is a little tight around the wheels and handle but not a problem at all. Because the wheels are plastic they could remain uncovered and all would be fine since they will not rust. It fits just right if I don't cover the wheels and instead just place the cover behind the wheels (wheels will be exposed).
But, IMO, the unit looks much nicer with the wheels covered. So, it would be nice to have just a tiny bit more room in the fabric to allow for covering wheels.
Probably, most users of generators have the wheel kit anyway because even my small 4000/3200 watt unit before I installed a wheel kit weighs in at 150 pounds with a full 4 gallon gas tank - too heavy for most people to lift. Added the wheel kit and now its weighs is close to 160 pounds.
Conclusion: Very happy and will buy other products from this manufactuer.
BTW, this 4000/3200 watt Predator is connected to my whole house (2500 sq. ft.) outside using a simple generator inlet box. Under a heavy load of having my propane furnace, propane hot water heater and my well pump on all at the same time (2800 watts nominal) I still have 400 watts available for lights etc. The only appliance not used or tested is my electric clothes dryer but we use a clothesline anyway so NBD.
I intentionally bought this small generator after using my clamp on amp meter to determine how much power I really needed. This benifits me big time since it uses much less gasoline than a larger unit would. This unit is no longer availble at Harbor Freight. I has been superceeded with the 4375/3500 watt unit.
Special note: Most generators (including Predators) are shipped "Bonded Neutral" as they are meant to be used with extension cords to different devices.
If connected to a house (which IS legal) it may need to be reconfigured as a "Floating Neutral" generator to meet NEC codes depending on how your main utility line to the house switches or does not switch the utility service neautral leg.
Do your homework before you connect it to your house via a generator inlet box or contact an licensed electrician for proper configuration.
Thanks for reading. - P. SchmidtDecent quality cover, some features are not that goodI bought this cover (38x28x30 inch) to cover my large portable generator, which I had to evict from inside my garage while I await its sale sometime over the winter months. It had always been garage-kept and I wanted to keep snow and rain (mostly) off of it until a buyer could be found.
The size of this cover was several inches too long and a bit too wide, although about the right height to fit my generator, so I knew it was not going to fit like in the photos on the Amazon listing, but it ended up fitting like a partially collapsed tent.
The material this cover is made from is fairly thick, and also rather stiff, and that is probably a good thing. Construction quality seems good. It has a flap at one end that is sewn only along the top edge, while the sides of the flap secure to the rest of the cover using short strips of Velcro, three per side. At the bottom corners of the flap are short belts of nylon web-belting & plastic 'parachute' buckles; these are adjustable in length by only a few inches, and assure that the flap cannot be easily lifted by wind, etc.
The sides of the cover have vents, created by an upper section hanging down over a lower section, and sewn together at intervals, so some air flow can happen, yet rain, snow, etc; should not be able to get inside.
My main gripe is that the only means to help keep the cover down, so it cannot be lifted by wind or casual passersby, is a heavy draw-string sewn along the bottom edge on the three sides that don't have the flap. According to the instructions, the owner is supposed to draw that string tight, so it pulls in around the bottom of the object (generator in this case). I found that the fabric material is so stiff that I was unable to actually draw the bottom edge in by more than a couple inches, insufficiently for its purpose. The instructions, which are generic to ALL of the 'porch cover' products in this series, suggests that there are also web belts and/or cords that can be pulled underneath the covered object, but for this particular product there are no such belts/cords. Luckily, in my case, the cover was tall enough to allow a few inches of slack fabric around the bottom to be pulled under the generator's wheels, to help hold the cover down.
Overall, this cover seems to be good value for the money. - Dave U.Excellent Product. This cover was made with high-quality materials and covered my generator, providing a little extra space for wheels and handles.
- CurtisGenerator coverI bought this cover for my generator. It fit over and down over the wheels as expected. It was nicely packed and appears to be of good quality. It has been on duty for a few weeks now and appears to be doing good. It was easy to slip over the unit for one person. It does not weigh much at all, time will tell. It is covered in sand, which means the generator is not or has a lot less than without the cover. Happy so far.
- suelouExactly as described????Exactly as ordered. Shipped very quickly! Wonderful cover and easy to fit? Just plain simple to do business with ????❤️????
