- Peter SEasy to apply and fast actingSecond year of getting this kind melt. This worked great and was the perfect amount for 2 winters clearing my back porch and driveway. Spreads easily and snow starts melting within minutes of application which is great for kick starting the melting process on a slick driveway or walkway. I have a husky who has walked over a bit of it, and although I don't let him lick it off the pavement, he had no paw irritation from it especially since I would just brush it away with a towel when he would come inside.

We haven't yet found one we like and are specifically looking for a non-toxic one that melts well and is a good value. This definitely melts but requires a lot of salt for a little area. So, this bag barely lasted us 2 snow days worth for our outdoor steps (only 4 steps). I also want to mention it takes a bit to work (about 30 mins to an hour to melt the ice)
