- Amazon CustomerMuch better than lifting shovels of snow.Works great on smooth surfaces.
A little rough on grass or worm out pavement but it still works.
Glad that I purchased this. - JamesThis thing is no joke!I am becoming an EGO fanboy. I already own a mower, Weedwhacker, blower, two-stage snowblower, and now this one. I bought this one for when we have snow, but it’s not quite enough for the two stage (big) snowblower. We live in Western Pennsylvania, and I usually have to use the big snowblower once or twice a season. For the rest of the time when it snows, I just use a hand shovel. This thing easily handled 4 inches of snow and did my entire 16 car driveway, including my patio in the back. I bought the bare tool because I already own four other EGO batteries. I used the five amp hour battery for this job and even after all of that snow blowing, I still had all bars of power on my battery. The battery that comes with it I think is a 2.5 amp hour battery which is what I use for my blower and Weedwhacker. I think it’s important to remember that with these lithium batteries they need to be kept indoors in the winter time- charge them indoors, keep them indoors, and they will stay good. It took me about an hour to do the driveway and the patio. With a hand shovel, it’s around 2 to 2 1/2 to do all of that. If you’re unsure of which electric brand to switch to, in my experience, EGO is by far the best.
- Cheryl HorvathVery powerful - throws the snow really farI needed something small-ish and portable to clear off my deck and sidewalks where a larger snow blower could not go. This works great! It really throws the snow far! I live on a lake in Michigan and I used this to clear off a small ice skating rink (see video). That snow was quite wet/heavy and it was about 6" deep and it did a great job clearing off the ice. It gets into tight spaces too for sidewalks and decks and even steps. The bigger battery makes it a bit heavy but I push it just like a shovel so it's not too bad on the arms.
- Victoria KersbergenGreat productLove ego products! It hasn’t snowed enough to use it yet but I’m excited to try it.
- M. HousmanSurprisingly Powerful and Easy to Maneuver!I originally bought the EGO Power+ SNS1200 12-Inch Cordless Power Snow Shovel to clear my large composite deck, but after a recent 5-inch snowfall, I decided to put it to the test on my driveway and front walk. Normally, I’d reach for my Ariens snow blower for this kind of job, but I was genuinely impressed by how well this power shovel performed.
It’s lightweight and incredibly easy to maneuver, making quick work of snow removal without the hassle of a heavy machine. While it won’t replace a full-sized snow blower for clearing large driveways, I think it’s a fantastic option for small driveways, sidewalks, and decks, especially if you don’t expect to tackle more than 6 inches of snow at a time.
If you’re looking for a compact, powerful, and convenient snow-clearing tool, this is a great choice. Just remember that the battery and charger aren’t included, so factor that into your purchase if you don’t already own EGO batteries. - Alexander FerrugiaDoes not have wheels making it scrape on the ground and difficult to useThis product does not come with wheels and does not glide across the ground blowing snow. You have to hold it manually above the surface of the ground and it is especially heavy when using a large battery, making this difficult and very impractical. I do not understand why they didn't simply just put wheels on this. I called EGO product support to see if I was missing anything or if there was somehow a better way to use the product and the agent didn't know anything about the product and said she had never used one before, it was a waste of a 20 minute phone call.
- DenisDoes the jobDoes the job. Tough material. Not suitable for hard snow or higher than 10 inches tall.
- KeithIt is exactly what it says it isIt is exactly what it says it is. It’s a power shovel, not a snow blower. So it’s not self propelled, you do need to push it, and it does get stuck occasionally on uneven surfaces. Just like a shovel. But no lifting of heavy snow necessary. It goes through powdery snow with ease, and on the higher setting goes through wet snow pretty well. Occasionally you need to back up and go again. But it definitely makes life easier.
Battery life is excellent. I already had a 2.5, been using that and it hasn’t died on me in the middle of using it. (For reference I’m probably using it for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, with half left at the end supposedly)
