- Jim ThomasIt melts ice---Not much to say - this ice melt melts ice, just like all the others. I give this product and seller an A, though, because it arrived sooner than scheduled despite bad weather (within 48 hours) and it's in an easy to carry and store plastic bucket (that can be re-purposed). It's more expensive than other ice melts. I've learned that most ice melts are good to only about 10 below (unless specified otherwise) and many products don't list the maximum lower range at all (and should be avoided). Aquadoc specifies efficacy up to temps of minus 25. I can't confirm -25, but the ground here hit -20 (lows) for about a week with high temps still in minus single digits. It melted thick ice quickly and it stayed melted for the next week as temps climbed back above zero. A bit too early to tell, but unlike some other ice melts, it did no harm to the new front porch or steps (composite material). I've used other less expensive ice melts, but this one seems to work best and I'll continue buying because of seller promptness and its effectiveness.

I used it first as a pretreatment. I had less accumulation. Afterwards the second application melted everything. It saved me so much extra shoveling. I would buy it again.. worth the price for its performance. Another great point is I didn’t have leftover chunks in the driveway and steps that track inside the home that other brands leave behind. Highly recommend!!!
