- nExcellent Solar Panels for Ring CamThe solar panels for the ring cam work very well to keep the cams charged all the times. They were very easy to install and worked well with the cam and other similar mounting hardware. Since installing the solar panels, I no longer need to pull out the batteries and charge them and put them back in. Now the cams just stay charged. The only challenge with one of them was that it only gets sun during the late afternoon. I had to extend the arm I have it attached to to get it out from under the eve of the house to get a little more sun during the day. That allowed it to charge the cam's battery enough that didn't lose power over time. Since doing that, I haven't had to charge either of the batteries. They are just charging with the sunlight, which is great. It comes with a long 10 foot cord. So the placement of the cam and the placement of the solar panel can be different if you need and you can run the wire from one to the other. That cord also has rubber collars at the connectors to keep out water. I've had them for about a year and the solar panels have held up well in the Texas heat and the elements. Very happy with these. They're working great.

I have never had a Ring branded solar panel, so I don’t have experience with “the real deal”. This does however, register as a solar panel in the Ring App, so that may/ may not mean anything.
This came quickly, was packaged appropriately, and set up was super easy. It’s literally just plug and play; no adapter needed. The most difficult part of the installation was positioning it correctly to get optimal sun exposure (still don’t know if I got it right or not). The only improvement I could think of is having the “swivel” all the way around instead of just on one side of the bracket. I installed the bracket upside down and I cannot get the panel to “tilt” up towards the sky as far as I’d like. Not a panel issue; it’s an installer issue.
I have 3 other solar panels attached to other cameras on my on my home (two doorbells and one floodlight camera). This time, however, I decided to test if the solar panel actually CHARGES or just simply keeps the batteries CHARGED (the other three had full batteries when I installed the solar panel). It did take a couple days, but this panel charged both batteries to 97-100 (one was on 1 and the other on 12). I don’t know how quickly panels should charge, so I cannot speak on the power of this panel.
So far I am very pleased with my purchase. Just hope it keeps the batteries charged this winter ( this is installed on an exterior chicken coop in the backyard. Only gets late afternoon sun) - TexDougExtends the battry life, but I still need to charge the battery after several months.I bought these for my ring security cameras. They extended the life of my ring battery when I was out of town for 3 months, but the ring battery died a little after the 4 month. They are easy to mount the the cable is long enough to reach the camera which is under an eave.

- Ashley KinneyBuy it now!Super easy to install, we kept having to change our battery, so we thought we would try this device! Try it! Super easy to install, and it works great. No more changing battery all the time. We need to buy more of these for our other cameras.
- ChickadeeIt works!Simply put it works! However having OEM Ring panels, there is a difference. Your settings (video length, snaps, etc) can not be maxxed out. Ex. After having it for 2 weeks on maxxed out settings, in an area with very little activity, after 1 cloudy day I received notification that the battery needed to be charged. The cameras with oem panels, in very active areas, with same settings did not drain the same during the same period.
Tips:
-South facing is optimal. But you need 4-6 hrs of direct sunlight for proper charge.
-Keep video settings moderate.
-Clean the panel periodically.
Only small con was the mounting arm was a little tricky, but we made it work.
