- Precise Disarraymelts very quickly and effectivelyBought this as I needed some pet safe ice melt, and I didnt see any at the store I was in. I wasnt about to go to various stores, so I opted to come home and see what I could find online, and which brand has a delivery date of a day or two away. Snow Joe was it.
Compared to the last pet safe/safer product I used, this is by far significantly better. Way better performance and works quickly. There is not much area I need to use this on that my dogs will have access to, but I prefer something that is safe, er, safer? And in the one spot my dogs to have access to, once the ice is melted down, I just sweep or shovel that area.
We had had a bit of snow, rain, ice, more snow, some rain, and ice, and more snow. Had a sheet of ice to work through and I wanted to clear out what I could. I just used this this morning, and I could hear the ice popping and melting after application. By the time I was finished salting, the area I initially tossed some down was already clear. Temps were mid 20s.
Green colored material, moist. Easy open bag. Though after that, nothing to speak of. I transferred this into the tub that the stuff I didnt like was in. Color makes it easy to see where I put it, and where i missed.
We don't get much ice, but when it does happen, it makes all the difference to have something that can knock it down. I'm pleased with this.
I will update if I notice it bothers my dogs. So far, they havent really had to walk through it. I take care to keep any of this sort of stuff to a minimum around them. - Dominic JacobsonWorks great but cheaper at stores in my town.I don’t recommend using this if you care about your concrete as it will chip it. But it’s pet safe and sometimes safety outweighs the integrity of your concrete. It’s a little on the expensive side but I was in a pinch and snagged it up.

- Dean L. SurkinWorks fast and safe for my dogI've used this brand for a few years now. It melts the snow and ice quickly (noticeable results within 15 minutes). I live in the northern suburbs of NYC, so you can compare the temperatures you have with what I've encountered (i.e., winter is often in the teens but almost never below zero Fahrenheit). Various dogs of mine have not had discomfort walking over this stuff, even though they react fairly quickly to the more common rock salt used by some of my neighbors (I use Musher's Secret on their paws in snowy weather, since they haven't liked booties, so please don't think I'm not thinking of their comfort).
