- LinnéSecond Time’s the Charm…Update: Never say never, and here I am reordering the same mat only due to the fact we needed a doormat immediately for the renovation occurring in our basement. With floors stripped, it was handy to have a mat by the door leading downstairs to wipe our footwear prior to entering back to the main floor. Luckily this time around the doormat didn’t stink like the initial one. I suppose we must’ve gotten a bad batch. Anyway, I’m slightly increasing the rating based on my most recent experience with this reorder.
Original: We were in need of a thin indoor mat to the entrance of our library after our last one has lived its life. It was a lot tougher to find such mats and I must’ve scoured online for what appeared to be an eternity. I was skeptical on this product due to its basic look and price as well as the fact it’s on Amazon. When it arrived, it was nearly rolled up in its package. As I was unraveling it, I caught a whiff of the product and oh Lord, this mat smelled horrendous! The heavy scent of chemicals mixed with something else made me nauseous. ???? I was about to put it back in the Amazon box it came in if it wasn’t for the fact that we really needed a mat. It’s best to air this out and spray it with some room freshener. The mat was as basic as it can get with its design and very thin, yet it suited our needs although I wouldn’t be giving it my vote of confidence. I suppose the lesson here was - you get what you paid for. Never would I consider ordering one of these mats ever again.
