- Brook WildBeautiful and Functional Red Glass Hummingbird FeederI absolutely love this hummingbird feeder! The red glass is stunning—bright, rich in color, and it catches the sunlight beautifully. It looks more like garden décor than just a feeder, adding a touch of charm and elegance to my patio. The hummingbirds found it quickly, and I’ve had a steady stream of visitors ever since.
It’s also easy to fill and clean, which is a big plus. The glass feels sturdy and well-made, and I like that it’s not plastic. The metal base feels secure and doesn’t leak. Overall, it’s both functional and pretty—exactly what I wanted. - mark vickersBeautiful Quality product.Quality manufactured feeders.
Very pleased with the style , easy to clean and the Hummingbirds Love it ???? - Loretta R FarkasWorks and looks great!Nice! Hanging them out this week for the incoming hummingbirds here soon!
Liked so much I got a friend the same set for her birthday, she loved them! - alt.MobiusQuality feedersReally nice feeders! I feel like the glass jar will be easier to keep clean and will hold up to the sun. Many of our flowering plants in our yard were killed off by an extended freeze this year so I am hoping these feeders will keep our hummingbird friends coming to our yard. Got them set up so now we just watch for hummingbirds.
- Jill W.Hummingbirds love these! At around two feeders for around $20 (sale price) I consider these a great buy! The hummingbirds seem to really love these feeders, and gravitate towards them over other ones I have hanging. I think the red glass really attracts them. I don't know why so many feeders are made in the green antique glass. I have some of those, and I don't think the birds really spot them as easily. I know not to add red die to my sugar water mix, so it helps have the red glass. My only real complaint with these involves the bars that extend around the feeding holes, allowing the birds to sit while consuming. The problem is that when I go to refill (these are kind of small at two cups nectar each so I fill often with so many birds stopping by) the bars always slide out of the holes. It's necessary to turn the bottles upside down to fill, of course, so the sitting bars slide right out. They are also rather difficult to snap back in even when right side up, maybe because I need to do this out by the hanging tree so as not to spill. It's both good and bad that these are only about two cups each. Mixture stays fresher if you don't have a lot of hummers coming 'round; however, if you have a lot of visitors, larger feeders might help with the demands of refilling constantly. These do come with a lot of extra parts such as ant motes. Since it's currently winter and the ants aren't around right now, I haven't needed to use those as yet. Overall, the red glass is strikingly pretty and attracts a lot of birds. At around $10 a piece in the set, these give a lot of bang for your buck. I haven't had these long, so can't speak to their durability long term. For now, I recommend them. They seem sturdy overall. They also have large openings to refill which helps a lot.
I wanted to post an update: I purchased another two pack of these feeders, but there have been significant changes. One change is positive; another couple changes are not. First of all, these are smaller than the original ones I reviewed. The originals hold two cups or 16 ounces each. I like mixing a quart at a time (I use a glass measuring 4 cup in the microwave to melt the sugar, never use dye). These replacements are smaller and an odd size. If you don't have many hummingbirds stopping by, maybe the size will work for you. Liquid does stay fresher that way. I have around 30 hummingbirds coming daily and we go through the nectar very quickly. I prefer the larger size. In addition, on the original ones I purchased, there is a nice metal bar that the birds can rest on. The replacements have a tiny plastic wrap around. Also, although the seller promises the newer model works better in terms of bees, I have found it to do just the opposite. The flower ports are different, and the bees have actually been able to crawl though the tiny opening and get inside. Not so good. Plus, the flowers are now a small rubber yellow kind, rather than the red metal of the earlier model. So here's the improvement: On my original bottles, there is a white rubber washer band that is very hard to clean. For some reason, the white band gets moldy very quickly. I tried just not using the washer around the feeding port, but then, it leaked. The bees were thrilled because they could just drink it up from the bottom. Not that I have anything against bees. It has been argued that they are the most important of all creatures. In any case, getting to my point here, the newer model feeders have done away with this washer band altogether and yet, the bottles do not leak. They have figured out a way to not have it around the feeder cup and still keep the liquid inside. I'm very pleased over that change. So on balance, the good and bad are leveled, and I will leave my review at 4 stars. Maybe Zamelane will offer another model yet that combines all of the best features. Then I will move my review up to 5 stars. PS Glad they kept the red glass. The color really helps to attract the hummingbirds without the use of the harmful red dye. By the way, I recommend using filtered water when making the sugar nectar. Birds are sensitive to contaminants. Also, I typically use pure cane sugar. I go through large bags of it quickly. It's my understanding that beet sugar is okay to use, but there have been recent concerns over organic sugar causing problems. It was used in a zoo situation that killed many hummingbirds but I'm unsure of the details or validity of this story. I believe, it has to do with levels of iron that are possibly higher in organic sugars. Might be good for people, but not for these birds. Also, do watch out for fungus growth if the feeders remain in the hot sun for some days. That can turn deadly for the little hummers. - Debi GA nice looking hummingbird feederI love these hummingbird feeders. And so do the hummingbirds. The color is beautiful it's nice and thick. It looks good hanging on my tree. And it doesn't fly off in the wind, very stable.
- LumaGreat feeder for our friendsHumming birds used this all summer. A couple of wasp were able to fly inside somehow but the plastic cup moat that is attached above it did keep ants and other bugs from getting on the feeder when it had water in it. I only used sugar water since the feeder color was already red. It was easy to use and perfect size.
- Hanna S. NowakowskiBeautiful, sturdy and great value.Beautiful feeders! Sturdy, easy to clean. Such a bright red color that the birds can’t miss. Thank you for a great product at a great price.
