- Jorge CanalesIt’s goodI like this seed mix because it’s cheap, it has no pellets and it’s pretty much the same quality as Kaytee and other brands. I have it in hand in case my normal seed mix runs out for my pet budgies. But I mainly use this for wild birds. Birds like Cardinals, Doves, House Sparrows and Dark eyed juncos are all attracted to this mix. Even Squirrels like it which is great!!! Because the seeds are vitamin coated, I’m sure the wild birds get benefitted from it. Should this be a COMPLETE diet for pet birds?? No! Pet birds like Finches, canaries, budgies and other parrots need a wide variety of FRESH FOODS in their diet. So don’t forget to feed veggies in a separate dish so they get their proper nutrition.

My budgies actually love this food and devour it. When I start to fill the automatic feeders, they leave whatever they are eating and go eiggt to this food. The only time im shown any appreciation from them is when I fill their containers with wild harvest seeds. They absolutely love them and will eat every last crumb.
Im not an expert on parakeet food, but this one appears to be decent quality. At least comparing it to those brands that add dyes and whatever weird things they put in there for some reason.
As long as my birds are happy and appear to be healthy. I would recommend this blend as part of a decent parakeet diet.
