- DarrelThe preeminent tax preparation softwareTurbotax is the preeminent tax preparation software. I have tried 2 computers tax prep software and find Turbotax to be the easiest to use. You can choose between having the program guide you through the process or choose what to work on or modify. Fifty years ago I was a tax professional with an international accounting firm. For a number of years I simply selected what items I wanted to work on. But since the laws keep changing I started letting the program guide me through the first time. And then I would select what to work on to go back and add information I didn't have initially. Having been a tax professional I always try to enter my information before I have everything. If I am getting a refund I want to file as early as the IRS will accept returns. Of course, if I owe a significant amount I want to earn interest on that money as long as possible by writing a check and mailing it on April 15th.
- Mark B.Incomplete software, useless for many things right now.I've been using Turbotax since 1997. Last year, and now again this year, they are showing that they are no longer a reliable software company. My taxes are quite a bit simpler this year since I've retired, but as reported by many others, the retirement distribution sections are not available ("Available soon"...got a date for us?). Charitable contributions are not available yet either. As a retiree, the lack of availability of these two sections make the software completely useless for end of year tax planning, January estimated payment calculations, etc. So, they have my money and I have a useless piece of junk. I understand that the Big (insert your own adjective here) Bill changed a lot, but that was last JULY! They obviously refuse to pay for enough programming help to ensure that their product does not alienate their customers. I'll probably try another brand next year.
- SmokeyQuality product Great Price!Download, install and setup was very easy. Instructions I got were slim to none but the fact that I have done this before I had an advantage. You need to have a account already setup with TurboTax. So if this is your first time downloading there software you may want to already be established with them. Make sure your emails are all the same too. It will make things easier between Amazon and TurboTax.
- JBEasy Peasy Software DownloadsBeen using TurboTax for over 20 years. Last year (2024 Tax Season), was the first year Turbo Tax didn’t provide a CD. TurboTax no longer uses those, but during the online purchase provides an individualized private pass-key to download the software via their website. I was skeptical, but it worked out fine. After my recent Amazon Black Friday purchase for the 2025 Deluxe Fed/State version ($49.00) I again downloaded the software successfully. TurboTax has been a great tool for my taxes, especially since it carries forward information from the previous tax season. I’ve also been happy with their customer service support.

I have been using turbo Deluxe tax for about 7 or 8 years and found it to be very
helpful easy to understand and the most important thing ACCURATE. - LaineyIncome sections not yet availableWow! I just downloaded this software purchase. Due to recent tax law changes, I need the software BEFORE the end of the 2025 tax year to determine the amount of IRA funds to convert to a ROTH IRA without incurring too much extra tax. Unfortunately, several of the income sections were listed as unavailable due to "work on updates for recent tax law changes." The sections I needed to access were the 1099 MISC and the IRA, 401K, Pension Plan withdrawals. Both of these sections were unavailable. I did not look at many of the sections, as I will not be needing them, so it is possible other sections are unavailable, also. Unless the updates are available soon, this tax software is absolutely useless to me!
- Robert G. LeroeThe bestI've been using Turbo Tax software for over 20 years. One year I tried another popular tax preparation program and didn't like it at all. Turbo Tax asks all the possible questions and brings up every scenario to ensure you get both an accurate return and with all the deductions. It is very easy to use. I prefer having the CD-Rom but all software these days is downloaded. At least it was fairly easy to do. And the pertinent info from the previous year will transfer over. All-in-all, it's a win-win.
