Really happy with this. Didn’t expect so much for so little.Excellent CD maker for I will speak of Windows 10 because that is what I bought it for. You get a lot of bang for your buck. Lots of options for recording and burning. Can’t play movies with it though. Need DVD player for that.

Instructions a little confusing but results are excellent. - elliottjProblems with Win 11I installed this on my recently acquired pc with win 11. At first it worked well, and I processed several classical music cd's. Then suddenly, my PC crashed and would not reboot. Just now finishing re-installing everything. I will try on different win 10 system where it wont matter if problem repeats itself.
I found out later that you only get one shot at installation, even if it does not work out. I tried installinf on win 10 and the key # was not accepted. Beware. - JoeEasy to use, great programI bought this because I have Roxio on my old laptop and loved it - I had Nero on my old laptop, as well, but half the time, the burn would fail. Never had that problem with Roxio. The new laptop only came with Windows Media Player, so I bought this program based on my past experience with it, and it still works great. Had no issues setting it up in my new laptop and have already burned many discs with no errors, and also ripped many of my CDs. The best part is, now it also puts the album and song titles up automatically when you rip the disc, which it didn't in my old laptop, which saves me a lot of work having to manually hand key all the song titles, artist, etc. I haven't actually tried it for burning DVDs yet, as my old external DVD drive won't burn DVDs anymore for some reason. If I get a new one eventually, I'll have to try that out, but I mainly got it for CDs, anyway.
- AZ CowpokeNOT Backwards CompatibleFirst, Corel Tech Support is slow to respond - minimum 5 days - and then they ask you for technical info if you're asking about the original software (EC&D1 we'll call it). They don't have a clue so you must through trial and error try to bring those older files into EC&D2. They suggested I buy EC&D2 to see if it'd work because they don't know. Well it does, with work and yet it doesn't.
SlideShows created in EC&D1 can be updated to EC&D2 and any audio you used may or may not follow. Music Creator files however are not compatible with EC&D2. They speak a foreign language that 2 doesn't comprehend
Using 2 is slightly easier to use than 1 in that 2 actually has a user manual (well, sort of) that answers some questions that will arise with use. So be sure to download it and maybe print those sections on features you'll use.
Important: As noted by other reviews, burn from software files. After saving your project, create a file and then drop and burn to your disc. You will save a lot of discs that don't work properly.
Right now I'm on day 5 waiting for tech support to tell me how to remove the red box and words ROOT MENU on the premier slideshow main screen. The manual doesn't even touch on that so I hope tech support knows. = Tech didn't understand the question. After several emails, they finally said, Oh, you want to change what it says. OMG!
In all, not a bad program. If you liked 1, you'll like 2 as long as you don't mind losing audio created with 1.
UPDATE: New improved software has a limit of 4 slide shows per DVD - period. EC&D1 was limited by the disc space, not the number of shows. That's a downgrade. - Klondike MatisseThis software Works !I was using a dvd copying software that I got free on the net. It worked sometimes and sometimes it didn't. It often told me that the blanks I would insert had data on them(they didn't).
But this software took a lot of the discs that the free software wouldn't work with and copied beautifully to them .
