- MoquiKeokiYes, this version WILL run on windows7I am the person who asked "Does Basic 2022 run on Windows 7" Mike M replied "No" in response to my question and one similar question. Jer replied "yes" twice, once to me and once to the other question. I vote with Jer. So I said "What the he**" decided to do the download and it worked. The program opened up on my my reliable Windows 7 desktop. Updated the program and loaded last years tax data into the program. Works fine.
Apparently the download procedure is being modified but is still not obvious. Here's how it went for me on Jan 13.
Went to my orders. Found the order.
Clicked on "View order details"
Screen with link "View your item" appeared and I clicked on the link.
Screen with "HR Block Tax Software Basic 2022 with refund Bonus offer" appeared. Smaller type "Software download" and button "View your item" appears. Click on "View your item"
Screen with big print "HR Block Tax Software Basic 2022" appears. Further down "Download Your item" headline and below that a "product code" and below that a yellow button "Download" Click the yellow button and the software downloads for 3 or 4 minutes, Finally! Then click on the downloaded file to install on your computer. The product code is the optional activation code to use when registering your software with HR Block. I was not able to get thru this routine until an hour or so after to made my purchase of the software so maybe it takes the Amazon system a while to complete the purchase transaction and allow the download routine to load. - Philip ElderGreat Tax program and at a great priceI must say this product surprised me. I’ve been on the lookout for a simple and straight forward tax program for many years, but I never found one I liked at all. This program is clear and concise and well laid out and I might add, it costs a lot less than the competition. I felt comfortable using it right away. It’s tax explanations are clear and easy to understand. Maybe it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the much more expensive programs but for a simple tax return for the average family, I highly recommend it.

- PeterDecent tax softwareI typically get TurboTax, but I got Block this time because it was on sale. The interview process is very similar to TurboTax and the calculations are within one or two dollars either way.
I prefer the TurboTax interface because I think it is cleaner and more streamlined. That’s just a personal preference.
I like that Block allows you to import tax documents (W2, 1099, etc..) in pdf format which eases the data entry chore.
My one complaint with Block is there are offers to upgrade or buy services interspersed throughout the interview which can be confusing.
Overall Block is a decent Tax preparation software on par with TurboTax. - Mike MMany questions on how to download the software hurting the ratingTwo emails will come instantly, one for the confirmation, and another with the activation code...........although you don't really need it because when you get to the right place, it will autofill. Click on the link in the email for "Your Orders". You will have to sign in and the the order will come up. There are not obvious links for the down load, however, there are two links in the order shown, one says "Buy again" and next to is "view this item". Click view this item and everything that you need will be there, including autofilled activation number and download button.
- MLBCAUTION: BEWARE PURCHASING THIS SOFTWARE.DO NOT BUY THE SOFTWARE HERE. I had trouble downloading the software from this website. I reached out to the "support", and unfortunately, was connected to "support help / scammers". I ended up with malware loaded onto my computer that gave the "support help" continued access to my computer. It costs several hundred dollars to have the malware removed.
I ended up purchasing the H&R Block tax software from another vendor. In comparing the software downloaded from this site and the software from the other vendor, the software from this site doesn't function correctly. - Mark TNo issues downloadingI have used this software for years, and have always been pleased with it.
Many reviewers are having issues downloading or finding the activation code. Simplest way to make it work is click on the "Access your content" button in the confirmation email Amazon sends. Then (and here's the magic), on the page that comes up, click on the "View your item" button. Now you will see an orange Download button, and just above that, the "product code" (which is, in fact, the needed "activation code" – it's a shame they used inconsistent terminology).
