- David P Kloetethey're plastic, not cardboard.All I know a/b these cards...are that they are plastic. When I was a kid (early 60's)...we got them 'one at a time' and they came in a paper sheath - they were cardboard, not plastic and to boot, included was slice of bubblegum, the same size as the card. I bought them for my grandson and I asked him - he replied, 'yes, they're plastic'. I'm 70, don't know nothing a/b the ball players in todays world. We collected Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Roger Maris and so on... so thats' all i can say a/b them and my grandson was very excited upon receiveing the gift.
