- ZoëA bit of false advertising but good quality, good for the price and does what's intendedI bought this to replace a meuller knee brace I bought at a sporting goods store that wasn't working for me anymore. I'm only 25 but I've had knee pain and buckling since I got hit by a car in the crosswalk last year after they ran a red and weren't paying attention. I was really worried about wasting my money because I'm kind of having to be frugal right now, so I did do some digging into the claims around this brace before I bought it. I can tell you that the doctor holding the brace in the picture has nothing to do with this product, and the bit about it being 'worn by professional athletes around the world' is false. It was hard because there is literally no trace of this knee brace or the brand that makes it anywhere else online except for this Amazon page. But I can tell you it was designed in Isreal in September of last year and the designer filed for a patent on it in April of this year which is still pending. So it is not designed in America and made in Germany like it says here either. The box says made in China also. But false advertising gimmicks aside, I bought it anyway based on the good reviews. I'm 5'7" and around 155lbs and bought a medium. My measurements are 14" to 16" and it fit perfect. It is a very good quality brace, it seems sturdy and does what it's supposed to do which is make my knee feel more stable and help with the pain. It is a little shorter than the meuller brace, about 2" difference, but it is a better brace than that one. It does leave red marks on the skin, especially where the knee hole is, and made my skin itchy after wearing it for a while. I put on a copper fit sleeve under it which fixed the itching and after wearing it for a while I'll see if it helps the marks too. It is a bit bulky so don't expect it to be invisible under pants like the woman wearing skinny jeans in the product video. But over all, despite some false claims to hype the product, it is good quality and good for the price (it was $19.99 with a $2 coupon making it $17.99 when I bought it, I see it is now $24.99) and it does its job very well. I do recommend. I have noticed after wearing it for a few days I'm having to pull the straps a little tighter than before, maybe my knee was swollen and I didn't realize and this fixed it or maybe it's stretching, I don't know. If it is stretching I will probably update that later. But right now I can tell you it's a good brace and worth it.
- GianettaCBest knee brace ever!Best knee brace ever!! And I would know, I have had a knee issue for many years and tried countless braces. This one easily outperforms them all.
Ease of use: It wraps over the knee quickly and easily, by using a wide piece and a narrow piece and pulling, you get a snug fit, top and bottom.
Comfort: cushioned knee ring stabilizes the kneecap without feeling like you are wearing a vise on your leg.
Support: the dual side support pieces provide great stability while maintaining enough flexibility to allow you to walk fairly smoothly.
If you have knee issues, do yourself a favor and try this brace. You will be impressed! - JulieGood to keep kneecap stableI dislocated my knee and tore out a tendon and for a couple months before I could get surgery, this was the only thing holding my kneecap in place while I stood on it for up to 11 hours a day. It worked well enough that I was able to keep working for 3 months.
Adjustable straps are super helpful, can adjust tightness to keep the kneecap in place. Easy to use, fit well, good value (tbh, I only ordered this one because I desperately needed a brace so I could work the next day and Amazon offered very speedy delivery, but I was quite pleased.) Looks nice enough and works well enough that I had 2 different strangers stop and ask me where I got it during the months I wore it.
Issues/negatives: It does wear down pants when strapped tightly, I definitely had to get some new dress slacks because it wore down the fabric of the old ones where it rubbed. It doesn't really do anything for pain, just helps to keep the kneecap stable. Also, sometimes the straps would get progressively looser as the day went on/I walked on it more, and I'd have to stop and re-strap it so it didn't slip. - Amanda KirbyHelped me recover from a partially torn ACLIm a nurse, and as a nurse I'm a horrible patient. I'm the last person to think I need to seek treatment.
In January, on a Friday, I was playing with my daughter. I jumped and felt a pop in my right knee. I couldn't put weight on my leg and it hurt any time weight was put on it. My leg would give out if any kind of weight went on it.
I immediately knew something was veryyyyy wrong, but I also in denial and was going to treat it like a sprain, with a knee brace and rest. Basic RICE. So I went on Amazon, read the reviews, and bought this.
This brace allowed me to put a little weight on my leg and decreased my pain. It expecially helped in bed. If my knee even went slightly out of alignment it was super painful.
I did my own research over the weekend and all my symptoms pointed to a torn ACL. Still in denial, because sprains are easier to deal with then an ACL tear, I kept treating it for a sprain.
I went to work on Monday limping and refusing to do less then I always do (the knee brace helped immensely with keeping me active). The only difference I made was sitting when I interviewed a patient instead of standing.
I talked to one of the anesthesiologist I worked with who convinced me to make a doctor's appointment because she told me it sounded like a torn ACL.
Well, after a doctor's appointment with my primary, a CT scan, and then seeing an orthopedic surgeon.. I had a diagnosis of a partially torn ACL.
My primary, and the orthopedic surgeon were pleased that I had been wearing a brace and they liked the knee brace I was using.
To avoid surgery the orthopedic surgeon prescribed physical therapy for me. The physical therapists took a look at the knee brace and were very happy with the one I was using. I would take it off for physical therapy, but I wore it for work, home, and sleep. Eventually I was able to strengthen my knee and leg enough that I slowly weaned myself from wearing the knee brace. Every once in awhile I would wear it for support if my knee ached too much.
After I graduated physical therapy I saw my orthopedic surgeon who was extremely happy with the progress I made and said it was up to me if I want surgery. I feel like I'm almost back to normal so I am not getting surgery. He said ACLs never repair themselves so it will always be torn.
Because of this knee brace I was able to recover the use of my knee to almost what it was before.
I'll always have issues pivoting, but I didn't do that much before so whatever.
I currenly feel no pain, can stand on my right knee, walk completely normal, I don't even notice that my ACL is torn unless I step wrong (like twisting my knee) or try and pivot.
This knee brace gave me great support for my knee
It was the perfect size for my knee. It fit well and never slid down.
The compression for it helped keep the swelling down without cutting off circulation.
The design worked so well for my partially torn acl.
I would recommend this brace to anyone who needs it.
