- WendyStylish, supportive, and incredibly comfortableThe first thing you notice is the vibrant pink color—it’s bold yet classy, making it a fun choice for runners who like a bit of personality in their gear.
Comfort-wise, these shoes are top-notch. The cushioning feels plush but responsive, thanks to Brooks’ DNA LOFT v3 midsole. It provides excellent shock absorption without feeling too soft, making long runs or daily walks easy on the feet. The fit is true to size, with a secure heel and roomy toe box that prevents rubbing or blisters.
The breathable mesh upper keeps your feet cool, and the overall build quality feels durable enough to handle plenty of miles. The traction is solid on both pavement and light trails, and the shoe transitions smoothly from heel to toe. - Kayla and Danny HoltermannBest theme park walking shoes! The best shoes for walking at Walt Disney World. I would usually get a long of pain in my shin's and back, but with these shoes I had zero pain. They are super light and dried very quickly on a rainy day. They fit to size and are very durable. When walking after the rain, they were very grippe and didn't slide. They are absolutely worth the price!
- AmyBethStability and Comfort Right Out of the Box!I love these shoes! I’ve had glycerins as well, but these fit my foot better. Glycerins are great if you need extra cushion. But I need stability and support for my arthritic hips. Ghosts are very stable and a little more fitted in the heel. They also have structured rubber on the outside of the heel making them easier to slide into without damaging the back. I size up a half size just like I do with glycerins. The toe box is rather narrow making them feel short. By sizing up they fit very comfortably and there is no break in period needed.
- Barbara B: A Reliable Daily Trainer with a Softer, Smoother GlideWhat I Liked:
• The Cushioning: The updated DNA LOFT v3 foam is noticeably softer than previous versions. It doesn't feel like you’re "sinking" into the shoe; instead, it provides a controlled, comfortable bounce that feels great on tired legs.
• Smoother Transitions: I noticed the drop has been lowered from 12mm to 10mm. This change, combined with the slightly rockered shape, makes the heel-to-toe transition feel much more natural and less "steep" than the Ghost 16.
• The Heel Fit: The new heel collar flares away from the Achilles. I often struggle with blisters in new shoes, but this design significantly reduced irritation during my first few runs.
• Breathability: The double jacquard mesh upper kept my feet cool even on longer efforts.
Things to Consider:
• Fit: These fit true to size for me, but the toebox feels slightly more "fitted" than the 16. If you prefer a very wide, boxy front, you might want to try the wide width option.
• Weight: They are a tiny bit heavier than the previous model, but honestly, I didn't notice the difference once I started moving.
Bottom Line:
If you want a dependable "workhorse" shoe for daily miles or long walks, the Ghost 17 is a fantastic upgrade. It’s stable, supportive, and offers just the right amount of soft protection. - Kelly St John GansLove these tennis shoes! These are very nice tennis shoes. I do a lot of walking so they are perfect for me they are lightweight and come in a narrow size for me. I notice the bottom of my previous Brooks Ghost shoes have worn out because of all my walking. These shows appear to have a new looking tread so am hoping they last longer.
- JaneMost comfortable sneaker!I feel like I can walk forever in these shoes. I have Planter Fascitis and these shoes have great arch support. True to size. Great look.
- Ashley AlbrightMy favorite shoeMy absolute favorite running shoes! They are beyond comfortable for walking or running. They have great traction and arch support. I have been buying Brooks Ghosts since the 13th version and I won’t wear anything else!
- Twinzee1Great for hurting feetI have had pain on the top of my left foot for several years when I do too much walking and standing. A couple of weeks ago, I overstrained it and have had constant pain. The podiatrist recommended shoes that I have owned before like HOKAs that are way too hard on my feet for any walking or standing. After research, I ordered these shoes and so far, I find them very comfortable, and they relieve the stress and pain on my feet. I went grocery shopping, cleaned house, and cooked dinner, spending several hours on my feet. I could not have done it without these shoes. I have narrow feet and these fit perfectly. The arch support and traction are good. Not sure about durability. I'll update after a few months.
