- Wendy FennerAmazing product for an amazing price.Our windows are old and extremely drafty. You could literally feel the draft hitting you while sitting on the couch. Our heater would run pretty much consistently. And that made for a pretty hefty electric bill my brother-in-law suggested this product. I read the reviews which I always do. This product was so easy to install and works perfectly. Our living room actually stays warm now, our heater isn’t running constantly and no more draft.
- Butter GirlPretty Sucky. In a Good Way!I had a couple of older windows in my 200-year-old Vermont home that have not been updated. Very easy to use. I did it by myself on a ladder in about seven minutes. Tape is good and sticky. I did put a couple extra pieces on the corner areas after reading some of the reviews. Gets nice and tight after you hit it with the blow dryer. Kind of cool and science-y. Sometimes I have to touch it to remember it’s there. Love it because it keeps the cold out but allows all the light that I need for a Vermont winter Into my bathroom. Good product.

The kit was super easy to install, and once it's been stretched with the hair drier (I used a commercial heat gun but same results) it is completely transparent. There is literally no way to tell that this is on a window -- you see no reduction or degradation of the light coming through, and there is no distortion or blurring to give away that there's a plastic window sealer installed. It takes me about 30 minutes to install on two 70" windows and a third 35" window, including the time it takes to remove and replace the blinds. I would highly, highly recommend this easy-to-use and quality product!
- chris cooperPerfect results. Apply extra heat and any flaw will disappearI have never used a product like this but decided to put it on over replacement vinyl windows at the ski cabin that had the smallest air leaks but any leak is a waste of energy.
I first tried to be as exact and precise as I could but learn that was not necessary. I did the other 7 windows by cutting the film with ample length, then framing in the frame with the provided tape.. all that was left was to unfold the film, pressing it to the tape as I went and no I was not precise. Even with massive wrinkles in the film once you apply heat the film shrinks up and is crystal clear.
I would give this 10 stars for ease of use even if you’re not at all careful however the country of origin is a negative. - Alegandro• “Easy Install and Great Winter Protection”I’m impressed with how well the Duck Brand Window Insulation Kit performs. The film is easy to cut, the tape adheres firmly, and installation was straightforward — just follow the steps and use a hair dryer to tighten the film. Once in place, it becomes nearly invisible and creates a tight seal that really blocks out drafts.
Within a day, I could feel a difference in temperature near my windows, and my heating system doesn’t have to work as hard. It’s especially useful for older windows or rental spaces where you can’t fully replace the glass. You get enough material to cover up to 10 windows, which makes it a great value.
Overall, this kit does exactly what it promises — keeps warm air in, keeps cold air out, and saves on energy costs. Highly recommended for winter prep. - JohnExcellent product with superior resultsThis product by far is the best window covering on the market. Crystal clear and installation is straightforward and effortless. The tape supplied is premium quality and removes easy. The “shrink factor “ of the plastic is great and tightens up providing no wrinkles. One tip, make sure you keep the hair dryer at least four or six inches from the plastic when shrinking. Work from the top down getting rid of wrinkles as you proceed.
- AliciaSo-So. Tape is too thin and weak to hold for the winterSo-so. It's a great idea, but the provided tape is thin and becomes less sticky when cold... Like when it is getting blasted by the cold air from the window. My windows are very deep (~1 ft) and my bed lies right against the wall, so I have to install the plastic inside the 1 ft space.
Works for the first few days, then gaps appear in the seal where the plastic pops off the tape, letting cold air jetstream out. I even double layered one of my windows, but the same problem persists. - Jason M.Easy to install and works.It does what you expect it to. Easy to install and use. Clear enough to forget it's there if done right. Don't get heat to close to one spot for to long or you'll melt a hole. Steady, smooth heat application will shrink any wrinkles out and have it smooth as glass. Easy to cut and included double sided tape is sticky enough for painted, stained or unfinished wood and plastic/vinyl.
