Easy to clean off, most spots have washed off in the rain. They also seem hardy, my toddler has definitely tossed them a few times and none have cracked yet. My little one calls them "eggs" lol, love that they come in a recycled egg carton. We don't buy chalk a lot, so I'm not sure about the value, but I thought they were a good price for how much use we have gotten, and will continue to get out of them.
