- techsavvydudeNo doubt a HUGE upgrade!!!I was unsure about upgrading from my original launch version of the Switch 1 when the Switch 2 debuted. It is so worth it.
Games on the Switch 2 vs the Switch 1 look so much better, load much faster, supports fast internet speeds with no lag, and offer games the Switch 1 cannot run such as Cyberpunk 2077. It also feels like playing a new game when playing Switch 1 games on it!
NOTE!! Neither of these 2 cautions I mention below are worth removing a star from its rating. This is a great gaming system. I'm mentioning these "cautions" because they will possibly help a lot when first getting it setup. Please see below.
CAUTION 1: When doing your system transfer from Switch 1 to Switch 2, when first turning on the Switch 2 and going through the setup, if you get a message saying to connect the AC (power) adapter, you HAVE to plug in the provided power cord from the Switch 2 (plug it into the Switch 1 if it also has the AC connect message, then unplug it and plug into the Switch 2). After that, transfer was quick and easy.
CAUTION 2: Switch 2 only supports an "EX"/"ESX"? type of micro SD cards. The system already has 256GB to use though (a little less than 256GB after system memory etc). - Matt C.It's the next Nintendo console! If you like Nintendo games, what choice do you have?Nintendo Switch 2 is just an upgrade over the original Nintendo Switch. It runs most games better, has better video quality output, and the included Mario Kart World is a solid game. It definitely hasn't justified it's position as a new platform yet, but games will come in time, probably.
I'm a PC gamer, so consoles in general are a tough sell, but as far as consoles go, Nintendo's offerings are usually worthwhile for the high quality exclusives.
The Switch 2 is priced a little expensive, but so is everything these days, so it's not much of a surprise. Worth the cost of entry? Tough to say, but for me, I won't be without my Nintendo games for long, so it was an inevitable choice, even if it made my wallet quite thin.
Make sure to get a screen protector. - JaseWorth the Upgrade if your buying at MSRP.Nintendo put out another quality system. Being a Nintendo fan from the days of the NES - Nintendo has always put out systems that feel substantial and well built and I’m happy to report the Switch 2 delivers. The price feels about $50-100 too high but prices of everything have gone up lately. I do appreciate Nintendo also basically snuffed out the scalper market. Sure when the Switch first came out they were hard to find but within 2-3 months of its release you can find a Switch 2 at almost every retailer either online or in store at cost. A problem that plagued Xbox and PlayStation. Now the big question is it worth the upgrade?? Right now Nintendo has a limited catalog of Switch 2 games but the backwards compatibility with new upgrades to some classic games give it immediately playability and Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bonanza are well worth the price of admission. Just feels like we are missing a couple more heavy hitter games at launch. We are due a new Mario Odyssey or even a new Animal Crossing.
Graphics in handheld never looked better. The screen despite not being an OLED is beautiful and bright. The bigger screen which I didn’t think would hold much weight is a welcome and needed upgrade. Also with the joy cons being bigger they feel more comfortable in adult hands. There is a lot to love about the Switch 2 and I’m glad I upgraded. - DAGHESMy Must Have ConsoleThe only console/s I have owned in the past 20 years is the Switch and now the Switch 2. Yes, preference but also an amazing universe and experience.
I don’t even really game all the much, but this has me gaming on a regular basis. Great graphics, smooth operator and always entertains our guests! Huge upgrade from the previous gen but keeping both. - Ashanttii StudioWorth The InvestmentThis is my first time getting a Nintendo Switch, and I have honestly been using it non-stop since I got it. It’s so much fun and definitely worth the investment — I can tell it’s built to last for years of gaming. The battery life has been great; I haven’t had any issues at all, and a full charge lasts me several days of casual to moderate gameplay. I also love how versatile it is — handheld mode, docked, or tabletop — it really adapts to how I want to play. Overall, it’s an amazing console that’s perfect for both gaming at home and on the go.
- ricardo lewisConsoles great, Mario kart though is kinda midAbsolutely one of the best investments I've made in gaming. It's a bit pricey I won't deny it but the console is really nice. Screen is good. Battery is a bit hit or miss depending on what games u play. Mario kart is okay depending on if u have people to play it with or not, if not it's pretty boring.
- Mercedes RamirezGreat Addition to the FamilyAs someone returning to Nintendo after many years, I was genuinely impressed by the Nintendo Switch 2. The console feels well-built and sleek, with a hybrid design that lets me enjoy games both on the go and on the big screen. Setup was simple and smooth, and the user interface is intuitive—even for someone used to Xbox and PC. The new Mario Kart World is an absolute blast, full of vibrant visuals, tight controls, and just the right balance of challenge and fun. It brought back that classic Nintendo magic I remember from my childhood.
While the graphics aren’t on par with high-end gaming rigs or the latest Xbox, the portability and exclusive game experiences more than make up for that. Mario Kart, Zelda, and several new titles like Split Fiction make the platform feel fresh. It's a console that caters to both younger players and nostalgic adults looking for something unique and enjoyable. I’m really happy with this purchase and feel like the bundle is a solid value, especially for fans of classic Nintendo franchises looking to experience them in a new, upgraded way. - SaraGreat upgradeMy husband loves this system. The graphics are crisp, and load times are much faster than the first Switch. The bundle with Mario Kart World was a nice bonus and it’s been easy to set up and start playing right away. Controllers feel comfortable, and the battery life seems strong so far. Great for anyone who enjoyed the original Switch but wants an upgrade.
