- grasshleyPerfect Green/Purple Color Shift ???? Nice Basic Level ProtectionEDIT:
The slight wiggle of the joycon cover was getting on my nerves so I decided to add the button overlays and I’m so glad I did. The fit is perfect and the case is much more snug. Definitely recommend installing the entire thing as intended lol.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Exactly what I was hoping for. So shiny and pretty. Does not interfere with my glass screen protector (purchased separately). No issues with docking.
I got a little ahead of myself and installed the cover before I realized it came with button overlays to place under the joycon covers - so I feel that the cover on the joycons is a *little* loose without the overlays, but it’s minimal and barely noticeable.
The button overlays are very thin and I doubt their durability so no plans to add them.
Heads up, this cover blocks the kick stand, which is why they provide a little stand. Nice touch, but seems way too small to hold a Switch 2 without tipping. Works great for a phone, though.
Overall— good fit, beautiful color, and good price point for this basic level of protection. If you need hardcore protection, definitely look elsewhere. I recommend for anyone wanting something that looks nice and protects against scratches and basic wear and tear. - JPEasy to install, functional, and super cute! The casing is a hard shell that clicks perfectly to incase the switch 2 and you still have easy access to all the buttons. I like the little freebies of having the stand too. Came with joystick covers and a part to stick on the sd card slot to cover also. As far as I can see it grips nicely and looks durable but I wouldn’t drop it. Great for the gaming girlies out there ????
- Jacob OdomLooks Great and Impressive Dockablility but Fingerprint ProneGreat case for the switch 2, love the color of it and the functionality with being able to dock it. However I do feel like the material is very fingerprint prone though I am overall satisfied with my purchase
- Adrian RivasMUST BUYGet it. Didn't see any reviews for Scarlet red. And OMG it's so nice! Male or female doesn't matter. it's very nice to look at. All my friends loved the color and feels premium. Includes rubber covers for buttons to be used easier. And even comes with a stand! 10/10 love this company so much! Can never go wrong with them!
- MikeBrook23Everything I HopedIt’s everything I hoped for. I don’t drop my electronics so I am not sure how protective it is, but the SNES themed one looks EXCELLENT on it. I didn’t want to have to take the thing apart to change the shell off the device and this is as good as it gets without having to do that. Easy to install, minimal bulk, fits perfect and snug.
- RhyottAbove my expectationsThe colorshift is AMAZING! It fits beautifully. And it stores in dock with case. I'venever had a cover that was thin enough to do that. It feels premium and actually looks like the switch is that color, instead of looking like a case.
Its so smooth and feels like glass in the hands.
The only thing that isn't perfect is the button covers that go under the joycon case. I was hoping it would cover the red and blue of the joycon disk, but you can still see it. Small gripe.
But I would still recommend this 100% - NicoleSo cute and exactly what I wantedOooommg the perfect pink and feels great for the switch. Thumb pads don’t stay but I got different ones anyways so doesn’t make a difference. Doesn’t effect the use of the console negatively, only downside is not being able to use the stand but I don’t use it anyways and I knew that at purchase and the case is easy to remove
- Richard TruongA colorful case with several caveatsEDIT (04/2026):
I'm downgrading my review a star mainly for the quality of the plastic of the case. If you intend on buying this, you're better leaving it on for the foreseeable future due to how fragile it is when attempting to take it off. There's multiple thin sections of the plastic on both the top and bottom part that will crack if you try pulling the case off in those areas. In my situation, the case cracked at the bottom corner with smaller cracks showing up in-between the various open parts of the case for both the top and bottom that showed up when I tried taking it off. A quick fix with Gorilla Glue can seal those cracks, but it's really only a temporary fix.
I did see that there's a version of the case now where the kickstand is accessible and has a slightly different mold for the bottom of the case. If I wanted to stick with PlayVital, I might consider that model now over this one.
EDIT (12/2025):
It's been a few months now since my review and I would like to note that the little tabs that cover the power button/volume rocker have actually snapped off since then. Even if you're particularly careful about how you press down on them, since they'll see a lot of use, it seems inevitable that they'll break off at some point. Outside of this, the rest of the case is still fine, but I'd probably rate this now closer to 3.5/5 stars if I could.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Overall, it's a decent case. Unlike the original Nintendo Switch, I actually found the Nintendo Switch 2 to be more comfortable in my hands and didn't feel as pressured to get a case right away. With that said, I mainly bought this for the Joy-Con covers and didn't want to get ones that were made out of TPU. There's a decent selection of colors to choose from, but I settled with Antique Yellow for something a bit different.
The assembly was straightforward and you can choose to not use the membrane covers for the buttons that it comes with. With them on, all of the buttons felt mushier but they did deafen the clickiness of the buttons if you can't stand the sound they make. I do appreciate how they complete the look of the case, but if that wasn't a factor, I would leave them off for better responsiveness. Comfort-wise, the case didn't make that much of a difference for me, but I can say that the case is light enough in weight where it didn't cause any additional fatigue in my hands while playing longer sessions. This might change once I start playing something more intensive, but for now, I've got no complaints so far.
I took off a star for a few minor reasons:
One thing I noticed is that the cover for the left Joy-Con flexes if I attempt to apply some light pressure and pull it down. As a result, it pops the case out, opening it slightly from the side. It's easy to close the case back up again, so it's not a huge deal for me. I suspect it could be an issue of this case being looser as I didn't encounter this problem when I tried doing the same with the cover for the right Joy-Con.
In terms of the case being dockable, it is, but it can be a bit of a tight fit if you're not mindful of how you place it in and later taking it out. I've got an amFilm glass screen protector on my Switch 2's screen and I did see some light micro-scratches on it once I started using the case. Again, like the issue with the creaky Joy-Con cover, this isn't a huge dealbreaker for me (that's what the screen protector's for after all), but it's something to consider if you've got something similar on your Switch's screen. If I notice the number of scratches increasing as I continue to use the case docked, I'll update my review accordingly.
While I appreciate the small foldable stand it comes with, with how the case was designed, I feel like there could've easily been a cut-out for the Switch 2's own kickstand. I imagine this was to keep a more uniform look for the case, but having dealt with the original Switch's flimsy kickstand, I do miss how much nicer the Switch 2's is and isn't completely replaced with their stand. As an aside, the stand offers 5 different angles from 45 to 75 degrees.
I placed a lot of focus on the shortcomings I found with the case so far, but I actually do like it a lot in the end!
