5.0 out of 5 stars Monocular that’s easy to use and focus.
Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2022
I am very pleased with this monocular, particularly as it is very easy to carry and focus one handed. I especially like the placement of the focus wheel because it allows you to use your index finger of the same hand you are holding it in. The focus wheel is also easy to focus with gloved hands.
I’d recommend picking this up if you are viewing outdoor sports and would like to get a closer view.
Also, it comes with an attachment that lets you connect your phone to the viewer in order to take photos or video.
Note that there is no hand strap, and the small viewer lens cap is not connected to the monocular, so you’ll need to be careful to not lose it. It tends to come off when you put the monocular in your coat pocket.
The optics are nice, and the image is clear. It is durable and I have not had any problems at all.

I found this hard to use. I tried several times without any luck. It could be me but I am usually good at these things.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sharp-looking and Convenient for hiking

A bit expensive but it is a very sharp-looking monocular with smartphone adapter. Can be connected to a tripod. You can put everything in the bag. I have a more powerful ~$400 scope for bird watching. It's big and I don't use it much. This one is convenient to put in the backpack and use from time to time while hiking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliance, clear pictures
Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2024
I got the monocular telescope with the smart phone adapter and this thing is so neat. These pictures are so clear and the brilliance of clearness is amazing. It actually works really good. The values OK it can be a little bit cheaper, but it is what it is I actually use this for a lot of things we take a lot of writing trips on our side-by-side and see a lot of animals and different plants and flowers and stuff and this helps me get a clear picture right next to it. It is 12 x 50 it’s a BAK – four high-powered you use it for animals to watch when you’re camping hiking even going to a concert or maybe just a spy on something lol just kidding. It’s got a knob. It’s got nonslip. Rubber has the ocular lens. It’s gonna objective lens. It’s got a tripod, connector and adjustable eye cup even has a carry bag to keep it safe you’ve been seeing things up to 1000 yards. It even has a user manual just in case if you don’t know how to use this or set it the way you need to.

5.0 out of 5 stars This compact birding monocular is handy to bring along.
Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2023
Hi. I have been using this EastPole brand monocular for a few weeks now and my impressions of it are positive. I’ve been using it primarily for birding at home with a tabletop tripod I own and on road trips, storing it in the pocket on the backside of my Honda Accord’s front passenger’s seat. Being able to easily store this hand-size monocular in my car is a plus because I occasionally have the opportunity to view interesting birds that live in the surrounding area year round or are “passing thru”.

This monocular easily attaches to a table top tripod (not included) via a standard 1/4” mounting screw and, once mounted, is easy to use. When at home, my family uses this monocular to closely watch ruby throated hummingbirds that visit a feeder that is attached to our deck. And, as noted earlier, this ‘scope is kept handy in the car; ready to quickly view the herons, egrets, loons, golden-eye(s) and the “once in a blue moon” bald eagles that visit our town and surrounding area. While the monocular’s 12 power magnification can … will … amplify the slightest hand shake, my experience has shown that bracing it well will provide a solid, steady, image.

Regarding the optics … this monocular provides a bright image with very good color transmission. Image colors are pleasing and the lens’ coatings enable a surprisingly good amount of visual “pop”. To my eye, however, image sharpness consistently tops out at “Fair to Average”. This is where this monocular‘s “Value pricing” becomes apparent. It is a level of sharpness that is usable/workable and in line with the monocular’s price point.

The takeaway: This is a useful birding monocular that offers pleasing colors and performs well in low light.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Nature Adventures!
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2023
This monocular works great for zooming in to view wildlife, plants, birds, etc. while you are out exploring the natural world. It is lightweight and easy to pack in your back for a camping or hiking trip. As I have grown older, my vision has deteriorated and it is difficult to see things far away. This monocular helps so much to see things far away and to enjoy watching the world around me. The focus wheel is easy to turn and adjust to your vision and I love that you can be out and enjoying this monocular from the moment you receive it. There is a case, a cleaning cloth, an instruction booklet and a cell phone attachment included with your purchase. The case doesn't have a handle or a carrying strap, which is a bummer. I usually place the monocular in 1 of my backpack's side pockets for quick and easy access.

I thought I would enjoy taking pictures with this monocular on my cell phone, but I have not been able to consistently take good photos yet. This is not a point and shoot device. The pinhole aperture on the adapter has to be perfectly aligned with the camera lens on your cell phone. Then you have to make sure the adapter is aligned perfectly with the lens on the monocular. I am sure I will get better results with time, but it is frustrating to see something so clearly through the monocular on its own, but not be able to capture it quickly and easily in a photo.

Even though I haven't been able to figure out how to use the monocular to take amazing photos, I still love having it. This is an affordable option that is great for beginners looking for something to take better pictures of wildlife or birds. It is also a great, easy-to-carry viewing device for anyone.
