    I still cannot believe a lens with the F1.2 aperture is at this price range. The response of the lens is pretty good, it focuses fast on my Sony FX30! The bokeh at 1.2 is really dreamy and beautiful! The option of making the aperture ring click and non-click is a nice feature. Overall this lens really gives the premium feel especially when it is just about all metal. At this price range it is very reasonable, I would buy again if I had to.

    I own the Sony zve-10 let’s just say the kit lens is very fragile and I was tired of replacing it. I was already planning on buying a wide angle lens that but I was looking for one that wasn’t going to damage my pockets and I came across this one . I did my research and looked at reviews after reviews after reviews to make sure this lens was worth the hype and because I’m a VLOGGER I needed my videos to be clean, crisp and the autofocus to be on point . I LOVE THIS LENS it’s exactly what I was looking for, it works well with my camera, light weight and worth it. If you’re looking for a lens I 10/10 highly recommend you buy this one .

    It's safe to say that this lens is the best "body-cap" lens ever made, with attention having been paid to optimizing its simplistic optical formula, and with the near-miraculous inclusion of an auto-focus motor. Its fixed aperture of f/4.5 is a good compromise between making the most light available to the sensor and enabling there to be sufficient leeway in the depth of focus of foreground subjects.

    This is a good lens to have on one's camera (in my case, Sony A7RIII) for convenience and inconspicuousness – i.e., for street photography. Foreground subjects from close to middle distances are rendered sharply; however, faraway subjects seem not to focus as sharply, and display some chromatic aberration.

    It has to be mentioned that this lens should not be used with electronic first-curtain shutter, which results in a black shadow across the lower quarter of the frame. Some third-party lenses present this problem, but using silent (electronic) shutter or two-curtain mechanical shutter avoids it. Expect, in any case, some light falloff (vignetting) toward the corners, in the extremity of which the image turns soft. The former can be compensated in Lightroom or similar editing software.

    Overall, this lens does not fully replace, say, the FE 28mm f/2 prime lens, but it's good for keeping the camera low-profile while out candid-shooting or for casual grab shots.

    I started my film making journey back in August of 2023, starting with a gimbal and a iPhone XR
    I have since bought a Sony FX30 + Tamron 11-20mm f2.8 lens to start with. Mounted on the DJI RS3 and I was off to the races! I used that setup for about 7 months and it was a darn good setup, but that f2.8 was holding back the FX30 by a lot. When it comes to real estate, lighting can fluctuate like crazy and having that f1.4 is amazing. Shooting in S-Log3 gives me an incredible amount of latitude to work with

    After spending a month looking for the next best 11mm-ish lens, I started to see a lot of people post about this and I had to try it. And I was not disappointed in anyway possible. I am not a photographer by any means but I dabble in it and man, that extra 2 stops of light is incredible.

    2 weeks in and the lens is built extremely well, it feels like a quality product. Even with the FX30, Viltrox 13mm, matte-box, and etc. I can still easily balance it on my DJI RS3. Fantastic stuff. I love the way the aperture ring feels, some people would like some detents but it's not that bad IMO. The focus ring feels nice and smooth as well, but I honestly which it racked focus quicker. Still not that bad of a compromise!

    I bought this lens primarily to have a wide angle lens that could be used for vlogging using the Sony ZV-E1 camera in Dynamic Active Stabilization mode, as the camera crops in substantially in that mode. The 16mm focal length provides the width necessary so that you can hold the camera comfortably at arm's length.

    This lens offers a good sharp image that provides good control over distortion and decent control over vignetting. Personally, I like the vignette as it is a good, natural vignette... and when used in either APC crop mode or Dynamic Active Stabilization mode on the camera - the vignette is nowhere to be noticed.

    While this lens offers most of the familiar controls of the usual Sony lenses, it also has a focal depth of field scale that is digital and illuminated. The build quality feels as good as you would expect from a Sony G lens - and the huge f/1.8 aperture delivers great low light performance and good bokeh.

    This lens can command a higher price point - and I can't think of another lens with its feature set that comes close to it for the money.

Ordered of Friday, had it on Saturday, on the plane with the lens on Sunday and it didn't come off my camera since. Did I mention that I love it.
