I know very little even still about camcorders and did my upmost to do research as to my needs which were...Starting a YT channel to film nature/sports. So how do I feel now after recording 2 events?
I love this camera's optical zoom. I highly recommend avoiding cameras with ONLY digital zoom...
unless...
You only plan to film yourself or objects close by.
Now, how did it perform? Picture quality is great for the price. Some people will of course argue this until you get to price! This camera has to me an astounding image quality.
Sound quality let me down and here is why.
The mic that comes with it FIRSTLY= a NON-detachable cord and I learned from headphones you NEVER want a non detachable cord! (trust me, as a cord cost $5!)
Sadly the mic ruined my first concert I shot as when I moved my tripod halfway through the sound went out rendering my footage useless as I had no backup. HOWEVER...The seller was very quick to respond and refund me some money to buy an additional mic.
IT is easy to send them video proof of this and they promptly refunded me some mic money which was not much, but...its a cheapo mic and you are really paying for the camera.
So I highly recommend this camera and the seller is lovely, honestly(I despise fake reviews as much as you).
Just know you WILL want to order a mic separately with this camera. I went with the "Rode" after researching it but that does seem a bit quieter than the mic that came with it.
I believe as you read this that it may prove to be a good thing for concerts as I believe the Rode will gather more bass and the mic that came with it was more treble heavy(thats my unexperienced belief).
ALSO...
I can confirm that you can charge the battery while recording with a simple battery charger like we all use for our phones etc. The concert was 3 hours long and with the 2 batteries that came with this camera would have died by the end of the 2nd hour. So...if you do not already have one, you will want to order one at the same time as the camera. I recommend 20,000MaH or higher, but even a 10,000MaH would have gotten me through the concert. I plan on buying a few more for long recordings.
ALSO...
I recommend buying a 256gb SD card as recording in the higher definitions, the 32gb card will fill up fast.
I told the seller after my refund I would leave a review and explain how lovely they were handling the mic issue. They were and I appreciate it.
That is my review.........................I will update my review as I only gave 4 overall stars. This is not a slight on this camera at all(honestly I love it and when I begin livestreaming the HDMI plug will be awesome) but I left 4 stars due to my inexperience and feel for me personally thus far, it is a 5 star camcorder esp. for that price!
for $200 bucks I got a great zoom/auto focus/picture quality camera. The video of the concert I shot looked professional. The zoom is easy to work and the autofocus made me look way better than I am.
