I think most kids nowadays have smart phones which will take stunning photos, far exceeding the quality of this camera. (I don't own a smart phone, so I have relied on cameras to take pictures for the last 50+ years)
During this review I compared this camera to an old 16MP digital camera that I purchased from Amazon at least 10 years ago. I show a few comparisons shots taken from identical spots.
This camera did actually take decent photos, as long as you NEVER used the zoom feature.
Also, even the non-zoomed photos once cropped or enlarged turned into a smeary mess, just like the zoom feature provided. The old digital camera photos when cropped and enlarged remain sharp for example.
To me it doesn't matter how many features you pack into a device, if it doesn't take even reasonable pictures the "features" don't matter.
This camera did come with quite a few extras, like a spare battery. These batteries are easy to get spares if extras are needed or if they need to be replaced.
The carrying bag is nice.
At this price point, this is a decent point and shoot camera, but the zoom feature cannot be used.
